    Dented pads after shipping

Hi all, I just received my second AG order and was a bit disappointed to see that the pads were wedged between other stuff and two of them are deeply dented and all 6 of them are curved to some extent. Before i inquire with customer service, is there a way to fix this? The package contained...

    New guy from Canada

Reviving an old thread for an update, i finally received my order. It was over 500$ and came in two packages (because i ordered buckets) and the additional cost at delivery was just under $37. This is very reasonable, far from the $100-150 i was dreading lol... I already have another order on...

The post your workspace / shop / garage thread!!

Our garage is full of stuff. I wish it wasn't, but im not the master of the house lol. When the rain finally stops and i can detail my car for the first time im gonna have to do lots of reversing gymnastics to park it real close to the house to get some shade... So imagine a picture of...

Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

Hm, well that's kinda disappointing. My Kia appears to have extremely soft paint and after one winter it is very badly swirled up (almost as bad as your extreme test). I hoped i could use OC or CQ as a last resort scratch protection if the damage reoccurs during next winter. If i polish major...

How much for your lastest tank of gas

It's true, liquids, solids and gases all expand and contract with temperature variations. The catch is that retailers know it and may correct the volume according to temperature. Where i fill up it says on the pump that the volume is corrected to 15 degrees Celsius (59 F). On the other hand...

How much for your lastest tank of gas

The lowest here in Montreal is 5.36 per gallon. Converted from $/liter and multiplied by 1.0573 for currency rates. This means a little over $70 for a full tank on my little Kia Forte (13.7 gallon tank). My tank is 3/4 empty, i'll have to buy some soon...

    Quick question about ONR

Never mind, i found the answer. According to Mike ONR as a wash solution should not make the water feel significantly different. Sorry for the useless thread, please delete it or let it fall to the bottom.:spam

    Quick question about ONR

A quick forum search didn't yield an answer so i figured i'd ask. I was getting ready to wash my car with Optimum No-Rinse for the first time and when i mixed up 1oz with 2 gallons of water, as indicated, the solution still felt like plain water, not slippery or lubricating at all. I was under...

My game plan for expert review!

The DP WG is already on order. I will definitely clean my wells, but i will not apply UTTG or any dressing on them. Thanks for the suggestions :)

How to dry a foam pad after hand washing

I would place a few layers of towel on a counter, place the damp pads on the towels, and then top it off with another layer or towels to make a sandwich, and then use a short pipe and roll it on the pad-wich with all your weight. Or roll them through a towel wringer: Chamois/Towel Wringer

My game plan for expert review!

I understood what you meant, but i figure a sealant is pretty easy to use and doesnt actually need a test, because it will probably work as intended. Unlike swirl removing and polishing, which can actually damage the paint, or just be ineffective, with bad technique.

My game plan for expert review!

Great info, thanks! I will look into Krud Kutter and Folex. It's still pretty cold here at this time of the year, so i guess i should wait a few weeks before applying the 303 HTFG. When it gets warmer, I will do another cleaning pass, park the car in the sun for a few hours to make sure it's...

My game plan for expert review!

Hi all! I recently ordered my starter kit of detailing stuff and can't wait to receive it and get started! I thought i should post my plan for expert review and suggestions. History: i have no experience beyond a simple wash and dry, so this is an ambitious undertaking, but with your great...

Got the new website up!! Check it out and leave feedback please!!

I would use better quality photos. Nothing puts me off like blocky jpegs, and bad compression can hide the finer details of your work. I would also use a smoother downsampling algorithm when you reduce the size of the pictures, such as "lanczos" or "bicubic", this will greatly reduce the jagged...

Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

That's quite amazing, thanks! I'm surprised that despite the fact that both coatings are based on completely different technologies, they behave quite similar once applied with regards to water repellency and chemical resistance. Also your test panel is begging for an extreme scratch test! With...
