Prices: to list or not to list?

As a part-time detailer, I don't have time to deal with phone calls throughout the day while I'm at my full-time job. Listing STARTING prices on my website allows people get a ballpark answer to their question. It also weeds out cheapskates looking for a $99 show car detail.

The Final Post: Pads for GG 6

Here's my $.02 .... 5.5" Buff & Shine pads. In my experience, their pads are superior to LC pads and last longer.

What is the best WATER BASED tire gel for customers cars

Here's a post from the OPT forum I made a while back regarding tire shine and application. My go-to tire shine is OPT Opti-Bond. I hate super shiny tires. Opti-Bond leaves tires with a low sheen, just nice & black - like tires should look. Anyway, here's what I've said before: I've used a...

    My Perfect Tire Cleaner

I have to completely disagree. When using un-diluted, I've never seen any tire cleaner do a better job than OPC.

Any major difference between Meg's APC and APC+ ?

Green APC forumlated for interiors (optical brightners, fabric softeners). Orange APC+ can be used for everything, but IMO, is better suited for the exterior. In my experience, APC+ leaves a film on hard interior surfaces while APC does not. I read a few years ago that it has some degreaser...

    Introducing the Lincoln Motor Company

There's nothing beautiful about leasing. It's the most expensive way to operate a vehicle, period. But, that's another topic for another thread.

    Megs green APC

That sucks! But I wouldn't throw it out. I love the green APC. Try it on interiors at 10:1 and I'm sure you'll be glad you got it.

    Megs green APC

I'm sure you could, but Meg's APC+ (orange) would be better suited. I like to use green on the interior only since it seems to be formulated with interior materials in mind.

Driven Auto Detail: 2010 VW GTI (Opti-Guard)

Thanks. I really appreciate the kind words. I had another back surgery this past December (fifth overall) and had some complications so I've not been too active this year. I'm at a point where I'm able to detail cars again so I'm happy about that. Hope all is well with you!

Driven Auto Detail: 2010 VW GTI (Opti-Guard)

Thanks Al! :) Thanks CHALM - I really like the new MF pads. I don't have to go through as many pads throughout a detail because they don't get saturated with polish & they don't seem to require as much polish anyway. They clean up very easily and are, so far, holding up very well. They are...

Driven Auto Detail: 2010 VW GTI (Opti-Guard)

This customer PM'ed me in the spring about detailing his 2010 GTI inside & out but we just now got it knocked out. He was nice enough to make an hour or so trip to leave his car with me for a long weekend. Overall, the exterior was in great shape. Paint had very few swirls. They were too...

Griot's 6" Orange Pad - Cutting or Polishing?

I realize that Griot's classifies their orange pads as "polishing" pads, but most (if not all) other orange pads on the market are considered "cutting" pads. Can someone from AG tell me if the Griot's orange pad is more of a cutting pad or a polishing pad? Which LC pad is it most comparable...

    Paint Stains w/Pictures

Mike, hoping you can help me out here. Local detective's Charger that they think sat under a tree (that's all I have to go off of). When I first saw the vehicle, I thought a clay bar or some Tarminator would remove the stains. Boy was I wrong. I've thrown everything at these stains including...

    GG 6", Megs G110v2, or Flex 3401

I just wanted to quote this since I find it so VERY TRUE. I've been guilty of it as well in the past, but now days I'm all about simplifying the process. The KB method is a great example of over-complicating the process (although I've not read the long-winded "paper" that explains it all)...
