Test Spot vs Working Area - Using a Flex 3401

Yes....that is the article indeed. Thanks for finding it. And yes, I do clean the pad after each section. I feel that I concentrate as much, but perhaps spreading out the work area does not give the same amount of attention. I will look into your article...thanks for the reply.

Test Spot vs Working Area - Using a Flex 3401

Test Spot vs Working Area - Using a Flex 3401 As with all new projects, I use a test spots to see what is going to work best for the project. Once I have nailed down the process, I get to work. Unfortunately though, due to poor lighting in the garage space (which is going to be another...

    Just how....

Two sticks of dynamite and a bottle of Windex should do the trick. Just joking of course. Good luck with your project, and please post some pics of the process. How do you tackle the graphite stains?

How to detail a 2014 Corvette Stingray

Absolutely! Thanks Mike, for sharing. As a professional, whether a detailer or a salesman for XYZ Widgets, you are indeed that, ... a salesman. You are trying to understand your customers' wants and needs, while trying to see if your service will benefit them. Your service or product is...

How to detail a 2014 Corvette Stingray

Ok, I'm going to bite. I am completely interested in knowing what you mean. I think I have an idea, but I would like a little more insight, please. Can you elaborate? PM me if you wish, or include it in the thread for others, as there may be several more interested in picking your brain.

    Detail pricing help needed.

Have you thought about checking with other detailers in your area to see what they charge for their services? I can say in our area, $225 would be a challenge for just an exterior job. Most of the time $125-$150 is the living end of a wash, clay, one-step, vac, windows, and wheels. I...

Dusting with D151 Meguiars Paint Reconditiong Creme?

Thanks to all for the suggestions and help. I realize it isn't the end of the world to deal with dust, but it is another added step in wiping it off. It never stays on the panel that was just polished, rather it goes everywhere. I will try to simply use less product and report back.

Dusting with D151 Meguiars Paint Reconditiong Creme?

Thanks for the input ... I have personally cleaned the pad "on the fly" as Mike Phillips has shown, used compressed air, brushed it with a pad brush, and even removed the pad from the DA and washed it half way through polishing the vehicle. I really don't think the pad has too much product...

Dusting with D151 Meguiars Paint Reconditiong Creme?

Thanks for the response. The dust that accumulates on the windshield or in cracks and crevices is most certainly annoying, and yes we should adopt the taping procedure. What is most concerning though is the dust that just accumulates on the just polished/buffed painted surfaces. I have...

    2012 BMW 328i (the "sister's" car)

Richy - I've enjoyed reading your write-ups and the photos of your results are absolutely stunning. Hopefully it is not in poor taste, but could you help me (kind of a product newbie) with a few of your abbreviations? Specifically, B/S pads=?, and UWW=? Also, after the Opti Coat what is your...

Dusting with D151 Meguiars Paint Reconditiong Creme?

Hello all! I am new to the AutoGeek Forums, so please bear with me. I have gained tremendous knowledge and insight by reading what everyone has posted, and it is certainly helping me with a few of the cars that I personally detail as well as to help me guide the guys who we employ. So thanks...
