Nastiest interior ever!!! But, did I get it clean?

OMG. Actually, I was looking at those pictures thinking even farm animals are cleaner than that. That is the most disgusting interior. I could never imagine something that bad. Amazing recovery. Hats off to you for the taking on this job and taking the pictures. Looks like 5 pounds of...

    A Little Birdy Told Me...

Thanks for the info! No complaints here. Get the current version at a great BOGO deal or wait a little and get an improved version (at full price). It's like heads you win, tails you win. Of course, we all have a whole closet of stuff that isn't used up. At least, it's better than...

    Much needed wash+wax.

Love it! At least 6 electric tools! Now, that's determination. Nice work. Brrrrrr... (Yah, that "swirl remover" probably did a number on the KSG.)

New GG DA, Wolfgang Twins, and Hydrotech ???s

I just put some UC through some pretty tough paces (also Griot's DA). I was left desiring something more aggressive. I just purchased the M105. What kind of learning curve is there? UC was pretty much foolproof. And for the OP, if you need it, UC is dirt cheap. To the OP, your...

Sad to see this happen with AG MF towels. Thanks for pointing this out. Lots of good info in this thread. Thanks, all! I'm sure AG will be on it when they're back.

Differences and benefits to hydrotech pads

3/4" could be a little bit tougher on them, but what I'm seeing is that the pad is fairly stiff. When you apply pressure, the force of the Velcro backing is not very well distributed and causes the closed cells to crack. By cutting back the Velcro at a 45 angle, this seemed to help, but only a...

I saw that the other day, too. Amazon's prices are all over the map and change frequently.

Test: New Hydro Tech Cyan Pad vs. Used Cyan Hydro Tech Pad

Great test and write up. Thanks for the efforts. For myself, I have definitely noticed that the HT pads become a lot more pliable after use. It seems that although less effective, they are still effective. Considering the cyan (especially) are not super durable, I will not cry over spilled...

Differences and benefits to hydrotech pads

FWIW, I'm getting short lives out of the cyan HT pads. They seem to have a fairly low pore count, and they are relatively stiff (compared to open-cell pads). What I'm finding in all cases is the backing plate/Velcro cuts into the pad pretty easily, much worse on the thick pads. I tried...

    Makita 9227CX3 vs Makita 9227C

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think the difference is the X3 is a kit with more stuff in it.

    Online Classes to start?

LOL! :iagree: Forums are great for free, but if I was paying money, I'd want to be right there. Detailing is IMO definitely hands-on. There's a lot you can't see/touch online.

I bought one of these. Bright and cool, but otherwise a P.O.S. Poor design and cheaply made.

Lake Country 1-Pad Polishing System - In Stock!

Hi Dave, I'm also looking forward to the results. I'm a relative noob, but I've been using the cyan HT pads recently, and they do seem to break-down into either "open-cell" versions or start to crack, so I don't think these 1-pads will be lasting a whole lot less. Considering the thinness...

    What's your pre-wax preferance?

For me, P21S or if I don't mind a little sealant thrown in Klasse AIO. Neither have any significant correction/abrasives.

List the easiest exterior products you've used ...

I have the Meg's #21, too, but haven't even gotten to trying it yet. In fact, I think I have more than 1/2 the LSPs or samples mentioned on this forum. I'll be trying products for years... I've even been doing things like every wheel gets a different LSP. LOL!

    New to menzerna and SurBuff

You could try a test spot with 85RD and a HT crimson pad. If that doesn't "cut it", then you could try something more aggressive on the tangerine pad. I found the 85RD so amazingly easy to apply/remove, it wasn't much different than a coat of wax (even if you had to do both).
