Add another vote here. I have the older PC 7424, and it is perfectly fine with bigger pads for waxes, sealants, and probably most light stuff like glazes, swirl removers, all-in-ones, etc. For the heavier compounds, then you would need more horsepower, a smaller pad, or both.

The UTTG I just got (~ week ago), came with the flip top, but I haven't used it yet. Should I switch to a spray head (wondering if it dribbles out with the flip top)?

Sort of timely post, I guess. I just finished wet-sanding and polishing my DD yesterday (Christmas project). When I was done, I could have sworn that the sealants and waxes were not as glossy as the paint, all polished-up, by itself. My calculating mind said that shouldn't make sense...
