Washing Microfibers in a High Effeciency Washer

No problems here. After washing with HE detergent, I follow with a MF detergent. MFs come out great.

I have experienced the same problem on HT 6.5" thick, 5.5" thick, and 5.5" thin. Actually, I noticed some cracking on a tangerine HT, but I only experienced the Velcro delaminating on the 5.5" thin. That was on probably the most heavily used one, but they are all new (first time use). My...

:dblthumb2: Absolutely! I really appreciate a lot of your posts (and others', of course). I can see that you're out keeping AGO a safe place to surf for a such a wide and diverse audience with a lot of variables including paints, tools, experience, and expectations. One technique I really...

    Question about pad/backing plate compatibility

Add another vote here. I have the older PC 7424, and it is perfectly fine with bigger pads for waxes, sealants, and probably most light stuff like glazes, swirl removers, all-in-ones, etc. For the heavier compounds, then you would need more horsepower, a smaller pad, or both.

    OHHH..got a package today

The UTTG I just got (~ week ago), came with the flip top, but I haven't used it yet. Should I switch to a spray head (wondering if it dribbles out with the flip top)?

NO comparison to the in-depth reviews you do, for which I am very grateful. Mine are just some quick comments. :urtheman::urtheman::urtheman: P.S. For the sealants, I applied two coats of UPGP -- your fave I believe :props:, a coat of Menz Power Lock, and a topper of Fuzion.

Ah, yes. I see where you're going. :xyxthumbs: I would not recommend that everyone go out and wet-sand their car. This is a pretty serious procedure! I certainly did not go from wet-sanding to 85RD to achieve these results but a lot of intermediate work (and some prior experience). Before...

Thanks, everyone, for all the positive comments and suggestions, especially on the Surbufs. I think it is difficult to resist the tendency to press, especially on vertical panels. Must try again, but even lighter! Any comments/suggestions on foamed wool pads? Harleyguy and Flash, I will...

I used the "85RD" as my final polish after a light wet-sanding on my DD, a 10-year old Boxster, which is also my autocross car :) Prior to the 85RD, I used Meg's Ultimate Compound and SwirlX. I really didn't think it could get any glossier with the 85RD and was tempted to skip it, but the 85RD...

Show season is close. Could you use some tips for getting my stang ready

Sort of timely post, I guess. I just finished wet-sanding and polishing my DD yesterday (Christmas project). When I was done, I could have sworn that the sealants and waxes were not as glossy as the paint, all polished-up, by itself. My calculating mind said that shouldn't make sense...
