Polish caused white speckles in black paint!?

Those are likely depressions and chips on the paint from road rash/driving. The reason they are worse on the hood/bonnet is because that (along with the front bumper) is the area that receives the most damage as you motor down the road. Some compound may be captured in the depressions, and...

The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

There was a lot of smart phone video action at our booth this year. I am a little surprised that those videos have migrated onto social media yet, but maybe everybody is keeping the operation a secret for themselves :)

Rupes Bigfoot Orbital Polishers Virtual Museum Tour - Milan, Italy

Yes, RUPES created the first gear-driven orbital polisher (to our knowledge). However, our corporate personality is certainly on the random orbital technology front. BigFoot was actually designed to replace this technology and in our opinion, offers several significant advantages. :dblthumb2:

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

I appreciate a stimulating discussion equally, and as such will address pertinent points on your reply. Some at this point are just redundant. 21mm polisher running a 7 inch pad at 4200 OPM and 150 RPM (which is quite quick)... 10.34 mph from orbital movement alone 3.12 mph edge speed...

The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

Nah brother, no need to even be corrected. I like your explanation much better than the idea that anybody from RUPES damaged such a fine piece of machinery. :dblthumb2: We all make mistakes and a little missed dirt can certainly happen :buffing: However, in this case it was just poorly...

The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

correct, in the zoomed in picture before, you can see where the clear film had lifted from the bolt hole, and in the after picture, because of the angle, its slightly more visible despite by attempt and carefully cleaning some of the grime out.

The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

Actually it is not. Parts of this bike were coated with clear film because it is raced on a track and the lip you see (in the before and afters) is where the clear film had PREVIOUSLY lifted from the paint. Only the lower section was brushed to avoid lifting the clear film more. Hope this...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

Perhaps I'll find the time. At the very least I would like to response to the points I find pertinent, but then you go and post this, taking up what little time I have. Of course, luckily I was able to learn form one of the pioneers in this field early on and was taught a valuable lesson...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

The Mark II tools feature some external differences: 1) rubber rest on the top of the tool 2) completely redesigned forward grip that is now solid and one piece - it is more comfortable and more rugged 3) a RPM diagram relative to speed dial setting 4) a more powerful (torque) motor and...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

Wow! :dblthumb2: I truly feel guilty for not being able to respond to this (nor read all of it) at this time. The only analogy I can think of is most paint experts still tell you to wait 30-90 days to wax a car. However, if you speak to the actual chemists they will tell you that the paints...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

Keep in mind that the internals of the BigFoot machines are very stout. If you find that the vibration difference you feel is worth the performance you enjoy, then you may feel that is a worthy compromise. It is our responsibility as a tool manufacturer to present to you the most balanced and...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

When you engage an orbital polisher to the paint with a foam pad, the foam acts as a shock absorber which can limit the vibration you feel (the tool itself is still vibrating but that motion is absorbed in the pad). The best indicator is the test the tool running it at a variety of speeds in...

Rupes 21 -vs- Rupes 21 Mark II

Yes, they showed the additional pad rotation as an indicator of the increase in power. The additional rotation comes from the machines ability to maintain ORBITAL motion under load. It is the inertia of the orbital movement (and a host of other factors) that create the spinning motion. However...

RUPES Pad and Compound Recommendation Charts

The reason to use an aggressive set up on fresh paint is because it is often sanded and these scratches need to be resolved without leaving a texture behind. It is often most effective to quickly cut the paint and level it, then finish with a finer polish. The purpose of these charts is to...

Power vs. Consumption - Why bigger isn't always better.

Did you have an opportunity to stop by the booth and test drive the Mark II? I understand and agree with regarding a longer warranty and we are working on it currently. The problem is not our tools nor us standing behind them - anybody who knows Francesco G knows he will go out of his way to...

RUPES BigFoot Mk.II vs. Ferrari Daytona

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/rupes-bigfoot-polishers/96188-rupes-pad-compound-recommendation-charts.html should answer all of your questions. Both the "New" Diamond and Quarz feature a new banner on the bottles. Both formulas are thinner and odorless as well. In terms of cutting...
