    2013 Beetle Detailed by Etiennè

Nice work! :dblthumb2: What product did you use on the lower door trim? That looks fantastic! Most of my customers want shiny tires and trim, although I personally like it more subtle. But this is what I need for the paying customers!

    Big Time Giveaway!

This will be my first Detail Fest, so I don't know yet what I like best. Of course, meeting the celebs will be cool. Outside of that, I think being in a group of detail "geeks" for a couple of days will be really neat. Making contacts, learning new things, sharing the same passion and all...

    Cobra Guzzler HD problems

For some reason, mine worked much better after the first use washing in the washing machine. Then I found that once it got oversaturated, a quick wring-out is all it needed to finish the job. I used one towel to dry a Ford Taurus I detailed a couple of weeks ago. It worked great. Better...

Pinnacle Black Label Coatings in Action! Pictures and Video!

Nice write-up. I really want to learn more about the coatings. There are so many to choose from and they all seem to have their advantages. Nice to se articles like yours to help in the decision process. Maybe I'll be able to see more samples at DetailFest in March, too!

    Headlight restoration critique

In my experience, I tend to agree. I haven't needed to use anything lower than 1500. From a Tacoma I did recently: I've begun to use the Diamondite system, and it's ok. But I still need to get a tad bit more aggressive sometimes. The 1500 then 2000 works great then I finish with the...

    Help cleaning felt lined compartments

I have had luck using scotch tape to get the lint, etc. off of those areas. It's sticky enough to pull up the trash, but not sticky enough to destroy the material.

    Restoring heavily oxidized paint?

I'm sure you'll get lots of help here, but if it had a clear coat and it's deteriorated, then the base coat will not come to a shine. Nothing you can do with polishing will help. On the other hand, if it's a single stage paint, then you have many options. Mike always stresses to use the...

    Favorite Car Shows on TV

:iagree: The "Top Gear"(UK) production is really the best. No other show has the same quality of video. Plus, the guys are hilarious. I love chasing "Chasing Classic Cars", too. And Chip Foose's show, although I'm really not into customs. I just like how the guys work together. Of course...

How often do you removing swirls and scratches?

Preferrably only once. Once you learn the proper way to care for the paint after correction, you should only need to correct if something out of the ordinary happens. On my personal cars, I have been able to sustain the scratch-free finish for multiple years so far. The things I learned...

What's your detailing New Years resolution?

:iagree: I've been trying to do that ever since Bot Camp. But there's SO MUCH out there. HOW???? And a steamer and extractor is on my list, too. Actually, after Boot Camp, I crated all the old stuff up and gave it away. One of the best things I could have done. Got rid of the excuses and...
