What's your detailing New Years resolution?

:iagree: That'll help a lot. I've cut back on physical activity partly due to the fact that i"m always working on someone's car or prowling around in the forums on my free time trying to learn more! Also, I want to learn enough about paint coatings to have the confidence to try one out. I...

SpeedFreak Detailed: X3 correction, Opti Coat Pro - New car Prep!

That's insane! What a shine! I have a lot to learn still. I may want to try out the Opti-coat sometime. A little overwhelmed with coating options right now. So many too choose from and they are expensive. Too expensive right now to experiment with. Maybe one day. Beautiful work, indeed.

White Camry - Less than Favorable Results (HELP)

UPDATE: I got the hybrid orange pads and the Megs 205 and 105. Finally synced up some time with my buddy with the white Camry and spent a few hours with it this morning. Did some testing on the trunk lid and decided the orange pad and the 205 was the ticket. went straight from that to the...

Pad recomendations for Flex 3401 & WG products?

Re: Pad selection for Flex & Wolfgang :whs: I also have the 3401 with the backing plate system and use the hybrid pads. I started out with three of the five and eventually expanded to all five. Catch a sale every now and then and it isn't so bad. So far I've been able to do everything I've...

Best approach for a newb and a new truck

The Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover is a great product. Really can't go wrong with that. Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0, car polish, polishing compound But as I mentioned before, even an all-in-one (AIO) product may be able to get you there in one step. The car I did today, I used Poli-Seal...

    New Shop Toy

Yea, the detail on the model is pretty good, even down to the color. Up against the real car, it matches exactly. Of course, I had to polish it up a bit! The family kind of expected that, but made sport of me anyhow. Nice little toy.

    Using Pad Washer while detailing

:xyxthumbs: This is the ticket. I run about three pads in rotation. I usually get about three to four section passes before I have to clean the pad. After the "spin dry" I roll it up in a dry terry towel and let sit out. By the time I need the cleaned pad, it is dry enough to use. I tried...

    New Shop Toy

My wife and kids got me a cool addition to my shop: a MINI Cooper S bluetooth speaker. Not only does it sound great, it is a fairly detailed model. Pretty cool. It's in the shop pic in the middle. I think I'll clear off the shelf and give it its own space. Merry Christmas!!

The next chance I get, I'll pop on a conventional spray head and see what happens. I have 4 bottles of this stuff. I'd sure like it to work. Thanks!

    Griots Engine Cleaner Help

I got some Griot's engine cleaner on a BOGO a few weeks ago and was really excited to put it to use. I also got the foamy spray nozzle with the order. I had a chance to try it out today and was a little disappointed. I got the Odyssey prepped and started to spray. Had to adjust the nozzle a...

Suggestions on what to buy your significant other

Lol Really, it's not a trick. It's just how women operate. I've been married 26 years. Like one of the others mentioned, just get her something personal that she can use. And by personal, I don't mean a crock pot or pots and pans. Something just for her. Good luck!

    Taping. Why?

In my experience, the blue tape tends to stick a little too much to some surfaces, requiring more clean-up afterwards. Also, it can leave a residue, especially if you are taping over vinyl. I still have some tape residue on my MINI stripes that I cannot get off. Also, I have found the...

    Taping. Why?

I use the automotive paint tape and not the blue stuff you get at Lowe's. You can get it here on AG or any auto parts store in varying widths for your specific application.
