New to Detailing - Wash/Microfiber/Device Recommendations

"Vanquish Auto" really has the best answer: "You will get a hundred different answers. What someone thinks is the best product for them. May not be the same for the next person. Your best bet is to try different products and see what works best for you. Read reviews of some of the product...

Waxing a car tomorrow that was washed today

I'm in the same situation. If I wash at night, to avoid 100 degree temps, I use ONR before waxing the next day before applying my wax or sealant.

    Wheel "wax"

As I said in a previous post, I'm getting back into things so I'm still trying to catch up. Years ago, some detailers were trying to find a kind of wheel "wax". The thinking was that wheel got to hot for traditional waxes and sealants so, there was a push for a special wax for wheels. Chemical...

    New to detailing

I used a PC7424 for years, it produces a good finish. While it's not impossible to burn through the clear with a DA, it takes some work. Mike Phillips taught detailing for years using a DA. How you use the DA (technique), your combination of pad and product makes all the difference. Welcome to AGO.

Thanks guys for the responses. This is why I LOVE Autogeek's forum; and Mike Phillips is a beast!

How Many Layers of Wax or Sealant

I'm getting back into detailing after a couple of years hiatus. The other day I was reading through a post, and related responses, about waxes and sealants (specifically KSG). Some responses talked about putting on many multiple layers of KSG (but it could be any product). My understanding was...

Can someone help me understand the Klasse paradox?

KSG has long been a source of conversation in the forum. I think the member's forum name is, KlasseAct? He has the answers for you. Yes, put it on very lightly (make the KSG spray if you prefer), do a very small section at a time, wipe off with a wet microfiber towel. In south Texas, it's easy...

Brand new truck - want to do it right

Sealants are the answer but read the instructions. The instructions on some sealants say that the sealants need 8 hours to "cure", without any moisture on them.

    Pizza grease on seat

I was in a hurry today, put the pizza box on the seat and headed home. When I picked the pizza box up I saw a 1" diameter grease spot on the passenger seat pf my 2015 Tacoma Tacoma. Any proved ways of cleaning this stupid mistake?

    Sema

I didn't go to SEMA this year, it's on next year's schedule, so I'm watching the various car shows on Velocity about SEMA- specifically "Inside West Coast Customs". West Coast Customs has an "academy" at SEMA, guys & girls come in & practice with the pros. In 2016, AutoGeek had an amazing booth...

    Klasse Twins

What Klasse Act said! I used KSG letting it dry, etc; brutal to remove. Now I use Klasse Act method, sweet!

    Klasse Sealant

Please don't consider this argumentative but, in south Texas it can 90 degrees at 11 PM and the humidity is brutal. I like the Klasse products. KAI on my silver Accord makes it look amazing. KSG on my Tacoma is incredible, and I apply it winter - early spring. The method I use is yours, it...

    Klasse Sealant

I use water or, sometimes, ONR to remove the more stubborn spots where the KSG seems glued on. For whatever reason, it's seems easier to use when the temps are cooler. I put KSG away when the evening temps and humidity are high. I made an "emergency bag" years ago that has ONR, distilled water...

    Klasse Sealant

The Pinnacle Paint Cleansing & Meguiars will be done with Flex 3401 with Lake Country white pad. The KSG is put on by hand. I apply KSG in the late evening, it's still light outside but I installed a massive lighting system in my garage that allows me to work later... and inevitably I miss a spot.

    Klasse Sealant

It's that time of the year for me, the annual total detail of the family cars; first off- 2015 Silver Toyota Tacoma. The process I use is wash, clay, Iron-X, Pinnacle Paint Cleansing, Car Pro Eraser, Klasse Sealant Glaze. (I use Pinnacle Paint Cleansing because the paint is in very good shape, a...

Competition Ready - Season 2 - Episode 2 - Tampa RV Super Show - Newmar London Aire

Hey man, I'm enjoying season 2. I like the format and I really appreciate the diversity of people in the crew. On this forum, at Detailfest and at Mobile Tech Expo, you've got the legends- the guys we admire and respect, who have been detailing since Henry Ford and the Model A came out. But on...

Customer asked for a quote on a hand wash and wax (Claying if needed) - how should I respond to the following?

I have been detailing cars for about 12 years. One family, who are customers, buy their cars brand new, they drive the cars from the dealership to my house. After I wash these new cars by hand, I treat the cars with Iron-X and I take pictures of the purple running down the car, I clay the cars...
