Where I need a fine application of a tape, I use TAMIYA's masking tape. It's sold for plastic model kits so it suits for small, fine application. Not only that, the adhesive is super mild so it can stay on car paint for days yet leaving zero residue (unless baked by sun, I think).

:iagree: Using dish soap should be just one of the tips. BTW, think about it. You apply car wax on a dish. Then you need to use the dish for meal. Washing with dish soap is enough? To me, yes... How about you guys?

Yes, I use microfiber found at Walmart that is plush and soft to wax removal on my daily driver. Just today I stopped by Walmart and saw some new microfiber products that is way plush and soft, I would say enthusiast quality, but it was sold in 15 packs too many for me now so I did not give a try.
