You read a little far into that. It saying that they will be making a BD *add on* to replace the dead HD-DVD add on. No changes to the stand alone machine.

Well, MS can't just start putting games on HD disks as that leaves out several million owners. Well, they could but I think it would be a bad idea.

PS3 as a BD player, game machine, media hub...... One of the best CE products out there.

The media has no bearing on the game being HD or not. It's merely the storage space. That said, NONE of the 360's games are currently on HD-DVD. DVD only.

No, MS actually thought that HD-DVD would make it but was rushing to get to market first with the 360 and didn't wait for the drives to be ready. They are/were a part of the HD board ya know. It will be interesting to watch them pay Sony after all that.:)

The cost to deliver a PS3 is and has been down to ~$400 for a few months. It's still a KILLER solution to HD/multimedia at this point and it doesn't have a rival in this arena anywhere close to the price. You get lots for the money. It's also one of the best SD DVD upscaling units.

I'm pretty sure that PS3's will continue to drop in price. They have a gaming market to compete in as well. The PS3 is also *upgradeable* and is 2.0 ready.

I have a B&D but it's 3rd fiddle at the moment and has a Dynabrade DA attachment on it (has for over a year). Doing full correction with a 8+ pound machine is torture on my skinny frame. The Dynabrade rotary that Z is talking about is under 5 pounds. It will probably cry foul at 8 inch pads...

That's going to depend on how hard the paint is. I've been told of paint so hard that you can't buff the sanding marks with a rotary. With soft paint it will take a long time but it can be done with the right pads/products.
