    LOng lasting Tire coating suggestions??

Yeah, Opti-Bond looks good, just enough shine for my taste. But durability? Depends on your weather. One heavy rain here on the Wet Coast and its halfway gone. A second day of rain? Just say goodbye to Opti-Bond. I have a gallon of the stuff from 3 years ago, I only tend to use it in the...

    Best towels for rinseless wash

Those are not the right ones, I haven't used those so I can't vouch for them. The correct sponge is called ProLine Tile & Grout Sponge.

    Best towels for rinseless wash

Totally agree as well. I have the Supreme 530 towels, which I used to try out the GDWM and even that gets too heavy and unwieldy. The plan of folding the towel in attempts to use 8 clean sides falls apart rather quickly!! Which is why I use the slimmer (but still plush) Gold Plus Jrs, which I...

Coated my tires today and WOW,

Well I jumped on the bandwagon today and purchased this kit. One common thread here is that the tire cleaner in the kit is weak. I'll be doing it this weekend so there's no time to order online a better tire cleaner. All I've got with me is Optimum Power Clean. Will this APC and the kit...

Does anyone use a sponge for a Rinseless Wash? If so, what brand?

I've never used the HD grout sponge on cars - but I've used it when I renovated my shower stall! Holding the two sponges together, I noted two things: The HD sponge is denser and firmer, while the Proline is much softer. The Proline gets a lot softer when wet - I don't remember if the HD...

Does anyone use a sponge for a Rinseless Wash? If so, what brand?

I don't know about other sponges, but after 6 years using ONR, I can safely say the Lowe's ProLine does not mar when used properly, which is no different than how one would wash with a MF mitt or towel. As far rinsing dirt, I'm always amazed at how quickly my rinse bucket gets black and dirty...

    Best towels for rinseless wash

Besides being cheaper, there's less laundry to contend with. I use Lowe's ProLine sponge, which I can't find anymore - good I stocked up.

    Sealants that don't bead?

I live on the Wet Coast, where: the winter is mild and wet, soggy, misty, soaking, damp and moist - oops I forgot wet - did I say it's wet? and there are only two seasons in the year: July and winter. Get my drift? ;) I've had no water spotting on the only 3 sealants I've ever tried and used...

    Best towels for rinseless wash

I've been using a sponge, six years now with ONR on 2bm. With proper technique and the right sponge, you won't need towels. That said, I recently tried the GDWM this year (or whatever it's called) because it makes sense. With this method, I use AG's Gold Plush Jr's, which works fine.

    wheel and tire storage

I clean everything thoroughly and dry them. I reserve the tire dressing and sealant for when I switch them back on. Bought tires from Tire Rack years ago and they came with these circular cut cardboards. I use these to layer in between tires/floor/top when I stack them in the corner of my...

Question: Safely removing adhesive residue, before coating

I love Frog tape! For painting, that is. We did a home reno 3 years ago and I painted almost the entire house using Frog tape. Worked as advertised. No paint bleed, resulting in straight lines. It's got some sort of polymer that interacts with paint to form a barrier. I've never used it...

    Popping metal flakes!

Thanks, jamesboyy! All I know I learned right here. That's awesome, dcjredline! Not even a scratch under the door handles! (Mine has a few I'm going to tackle this weekend...) My van's got 58K miles, quite lower than yours but it's 90% city driving, lots of stops and starts.

How many of your neighbors are into car detailing

Many of my neighbors are out washing their cars on nice weekends. But I've yet to see one break out 2 buckets or a microfiber towel. One uses a brush that I swear looks like something I sweep my front patio with. Another uses a beach towel! Once I was talking to my next door neighbor next to his...

    Popping metal flakes!

Thank you, everyone! Especially Mike, much respect. To CDot: Toyota calls it Slate Metallic. It looks gray most times to me, but ask another person and they'll say either blue or green! Depends on the lighting and angle I guess! To zainJR: Yes it's 100% daily driver. Parked on the streets on...
