Coated my tires today and WOW,

It's been about 45 in my (unheated) garage. Outside temp is around 35. But I just checked the weather report for this weekend, it's going to be warmer, nudging into the 50s, but wet. Good idea - I'll wait longer between coats, if it's below 50s. And I'm thinking they're really just winter...

    ONR As A Waterless...possible?

8oz per gallon for WW? That's QD strength. I'd use that for very light dust, presoak before a rinseless or spot cleaning. Nothing close to a WW. But that's just me. To the OP, use your best judgment.

    ONR As A Waterless...possible?

I wouldn't use it as a waterless. ONR was designed for specific dilution ratios, none of which is for a waterless wash. I've tried it at stronger than recommended ratio for QD purposes but had streaks. If you want to stay within the ONR family, Optimum makes a separate waterless product.

Coated my tires today and WOW,

For those that just coated their tires, what was the ambient temp? I'll be swapping in my winters this weekend and thinking of coating them but the temps here have been hovering at the 40s. What do you guys think?

    Cleaning microfiber towels??

Well I can answer with personal experience. I've been using WDGPS 3.0 annually on 2 cars for the past 7 years, following manufacturer's instructions to the letter (let dry for at least 45 minutes, then buff, then let cure for at least 24 hours with zero moisture before topping with wax - if so...

    Detailing in winter

Yup, similar to what I do in the winter. Except I use my 2-gal Gilmour tank sprayer to spray a waterless solution (currently UWW+ until I use it all up) onto a panel before going at it with ONR rinseless. Here in the Seattle area, winters hover around freezing temps so I can do rinseless...

    Cleaning microfiber towels??

Just 2 loads for me. 1st pile: everything that touches the paint. 2nd pile: everything else (interior, wheels, doorjambs, engine, etc.)

Microfiber fell on cement. Can I still use them?

I can only speak for myself. I don't get upset by swirls in my doorjambs for one reason and one reason only: I DON'T LOOK for swirls in my door jambs!! I keep them clean and free of gunk, but that's about it. But then again, I've got daily drivers.

    Product winter storage

My garage never goes below 45, I find, even in the middle of winter. So I leave everything in the garage except my tubs of Fuzion and Souveran and a few boxes of Riccardo clay. Doesn't seem to hurt them year in and year out.

A Complete Detail from Scratch; how long?

I'm a hobbyist as well. My first time was on a minivan and it took me close to 30 hrs in 3 long sessions. It was more due to lots of pauses out of indecisions and thinking through next steps, etc. After all that, I'd give myself a C. I used the older PC with 6.5" pads and under bright...

How do you compete with gimmicky "detailing"

Unless customers know any better, you can't compete. These shops' prices are ridiculously low. There's a couple I know and they leave flyers in our office. They start at $20 for an exterior wash, and increments gradually for each additional service item. One of my co-workers go there once a...

3 batteries in 2 years, any ideas?

Frequent starts throughout the day, and short trips less than 10-15 minutes will drain batteries faster than usual.

    Calling all Photographers

I think what most people are saying is the equipment does not matter if the person knows what he's doing and what he's expecting out of the equipment. But like I said, my wife who knows next to nothing about photography is getting nice decent shots with her Micro 4/3 camera (e.g. Sony Nex 3) in...
