    Optimum products...

I never liked their polishes, but recently I tried the new Optimum Polish II and it was great. The old polishes took too long to break down, but the new Polish II flashed in a very reasonable amount of time. Of course, ONR is great and Opti-Bond is very good. Poli-Seal, OCW, and Opti-Seal all...

    2005 Honda S2000 Rio Yellow

Great work! The one thing I'd like to throw out there though is that the top on the S2K is vinyl not fabric. It looks like fabric because there's a weave pattern to it, but it's vinyl. Ragg Top for vinyl is an excellent dressing on these tops.

    kitchen stainless steel

Stainless steel is a major PITA. All my appliances have it. I found a product called Stainless Steel Magic that is hands down the best SS kitchen appliance cleaner I've ever used. It was recommended to me by the appliance store I bought my stuff in. I've bought it a few places like Lowe's &...

    Detailing Maintenance Schedule

Wow! You are HIGHLY organized. Personally, I'm a big fan of "you do it when it needs to be done." If the paint is rough then I clay. If the interior is dirty then I vacuum. Doing things on a schedule can sometimes lead to overkill and wasted effort. Just the way I do things of course...

    Detail City Special Announcement!

Best of luck Dwayne! I don't think I've logged on to DC more than a handful of times since you sold it. Now that you're back at the helm I might have to drop by there more often.

Help Me Pick My Next Car....

I hear what you're saying. When I was in your shoes it came down to the BMW 335xi and the G35x. Truth be told, I really liked the 335xi better. The interior material quality was nicer and the suspension setup was more sports car like. However the G had more gadgets in it, had a bigger back...

Help Me Pick My Next Car....

The G is fun to drive, but I can't say it would be as fun as the S4. You might even want to look into the G37xS to amp up the fun factor (S is for sport). What I can say is that my G has been ROCK SOLID. I haven't had a single problem with it yet. When I last had an Audi the day I picked it...

Help Me Pick My Next Car....

You're missing one car from your list! I would definitely put the Infiniti G37x on there. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago and I was looking at all the same cars as you are. In the end I bought a G35x (G37 wasn't out then) because it had more hp, more bells & whistles, and it cost...

3" Mini Polisher- Gen II - Griot's Garage Mini Polisher

I recently got some of the Griot's 3" pads to use with my 3" polisher and I was amazed how much smaller they are than the 4" LC pads. Obviously they're an inch smaller in diameter but also the Griot's pads are much lower profile (a/k/a thinner). So I can certainly understand the machine being...

I thought Lexol made Vinylex. Does that mean Vinylex is going bye-bye?

Review- Autogeek 1 Year Customer, DP Extreme Foam, Poorboys Super Slick and Wax Shampoo, Griots 3 inch Polisher

Oops! I didn't see that. I don't think wash & wax soaps are terribly popular amount the detailing enthusiast crowd which is probably why it's so cheap.

Review- Autogeek 1 Year Customer, DP Extreme Foam, Poorboys Super Slick and Wax Shampoo, Griots 3 inch Polisher

Thanks for the product reviews! I just got the 3" polisher myself so I'm glad to hear a positive review as I've yet to use it. The Poorboys SS&S I have to say is one of my favorite soaps. It's not the most expensive soap ever, but I would call it the cheapest either. It is however extremely...

    Proper Jeweling Technique?

I have ZERO experience with the gold pads but I'm surprised by your statement as the gold pads are described as "jewelling" pads on the AG store site.

    Car Wash Soaps

Some people put a huge emphasis on suds so I thought it would be a good addition to the discussion if I added this point (and the video). Don't get me wrong, suds make washing fun. :props: I use my foam cannon everytime I wash my car. However, I know the foam isn't really doing anything...
