    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

ok so ive received 2 complaints of about 40-45 regarding the longevity of the gclear. One guy whose lights i did looked real bad after only 3.5 months like the gclear really started to streak up after a few months. They arent starting to yellow but you can tell the gclear is either peeling or...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

i know it may not be neccessary im just wondering if its possible that the primer can help the gclear adhere to the light better and increase the longevity of the gclear. again i have no idea if this would work or not(im not a chemist) but i wonder if theres a chance it could help. did you stop...

Headlight sealer: Spraymax i wonder if this would be a good idea to spray onto the lights(instead of cleaning it with oms/ipa) as a primer right before the clearcoat. ive been reading good things about this helping to promote plastic adhesion.

interesting. is the purpose of the hydophobic layer just to prevent water damage or what exactly is it suppose to do? Do you think it provides that much extra protection on top of what the other clear coat already provides? may invest in trying what you did but not sure if its worth it yet. on...

francesco did you apply the EXO2 on your own car or a customers? Never thought of adding another clear coat but it could be a great idea. i wonder if it would be alright to mix the EVO2 in at the same time as the Gclear. It would be interesting to see if it can provide an extra layer of...

I've just use the sunlight to cure the gclear and it seems to work fine. The curing lamp seems kinda gimmicky to me but who knows.. maybe the light from the lamp would make the sealant last longer. Also, you can get the same blue uv lamp at target/walmart for like $30-40 bucks.

so ive been using glaswelds gclear for about a week now (applied on about 15 cars) and am pretty impressed with the results. i measure a teaspoon per light which equates to about 75 cents/lens and is enough to lay down a pretty thick coating on most lights. On a big lens, i will use a little...

ray, i hate to call you out because you've provided some good information ITT but it seems like your product is misleading(correct me if im wrong). i watched both videos and it didnt appear any oxidation/plastic corrosion was being removed. It looks like the lights were already sanded and the...

does leather restoration require alot of experience to get good results?

That is true. There is a much greater market for cleaning then repairing but im guessing the cost would be much cheaper too. Any idea as to the going rate for either service? I've come across ALOT of people who need a restoration. It seems like everyone with leather needs a spot restoration...

does leather restoration require alot of experience to get good results?

id like to implement both(in the OP i meant leather repair as oppose to conditioning/cleaning). seems like leather repair/restoration(using crack fillers/dyes/etc) is a more nische market then cleaning and could yeild ALOT more business so i would rather start out with that. im guessing its...

does leather restoration require alot of experience to get good results?

I am thinking about adding leather restoration as one of my services. Right now i only offer headlight restoration but have built up a really good customer base(over 250 customers) the past couple months. Is restoring leather interior difficult to do for begginners or can it be done using the...

    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

thanks for the response to my original post first off. Going back to the price, gclear is $80 for 16 ounces(32-40 cars) where opticoat you can get 20c(2/3 of an ounce) on amazon for a little over $70 so gclear def sounds like a better buy if the stuff holds up. I coukd be wrong but it seems...
