    Advice for Crystal Red Vette

I was going to post a comment about that, but being a newb here, I didn't want to ruffle any feathers!

Survivor - 1957 Mercury Stationwagon - Future Glass Polishing Project

They're only original once. Cool find, and plucks my heart strings, bigtime. Something about wagons brings back memories of road trips in our 1971 Plymouth Fury II. My wife absolutely hates wagons. Bad news for her...We WILL own one some day! True story- I once hand rubbed and waxed the...

    More cut??

prin- What size pad are you using? I found on my PC7424 that the 6 inch pads didn't rotate as much as I'd like. Low rotation equals low cutting power, and the vibes were beating me up. Try a 5" Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber, or Uro-Wool pad. I think you'll be impressed. Long throw machines also cut...

Test drive - NEW RUPES Mille and Rotary Buffer by Mike Phillips

I can attest that the Mille leaves a stunning finish! It has a different feel from a free random orbital, though. You can definitely feel the rotation of it. It's very smooth with the short throw, but it cuts well because of the forced rotation. I went to town on my MINI with it. I had polished...

1979 Trans Am - all original SS paint questions

Dang, that Mustang looks fine! Hey, Mike, do you have any videos posted showing the edge riding technique? I have a similar body line on the hood of my car, and I was pondering how to approach it without being too aggressive.

303 Aerospace Can Double the Life/Mileage of Your Tire's Tread?

Ok, this guy drags a rat tail file across three different compounds, none of them tire compounds. Fast forward through that bit. His customer has 100k on his tires with decent tread left. I can believe that. Personally, I would never remount tires with that kind of mileage on them, no matter...

Brand new truck - want to do it right

Use clay lube, and use a very fine clay like the Pinnacle. You might also consider decontaminating with CarPro IronX after first wash and dry before claying. If your truck was transported by rail, you can bet there is a bunch of rail dust on it. Also, expect your brakes to make a lot of brake...

    I'm back...

Welcome back, and congrats on the GTI. They are very fun cars. You got the correct transmission, I see! Nothing against DSG, but the manual in the new GTIs is super sweet.

    Ceramic coating on new wheels

Definitely. Thanks. I don't want ceramic on my tires, and I want to coat the whole rim. I was also considering taping off the circumference of the barrel where the weights would be applied, then coating the area I taped off with the weights in place.

    Ceramic coating on new wheels

I'm looking into a new set of wheels for my BMW. I want to ceramic coat them with PBL Diamond Wheel Coating. My question is if I coat them before the tires are mounted, will the balance weights adhere sufficiently to a coated wheel?

    Cleaning WeatherTech Liners, opinions welcome....

Thanks for the thread. I once drove home to Illinois from Palm Beach, Fla with a car I had just purchased. The dealer had done a respectable job of detailing it, but someone put tons of some protectant or dressing on the floor mats. My heels were sliding all over the place! It was so bad, I...

Looking to Upgrade from Elbow Grease Method

I just put two coats of Rupes P808 on my MINI after polishing. Nothing could be easier. Spray on, wipe with microfiber, final wipe with plush microfiber towel, and stand back and admire! I can't speak to it's longevity, but it's very easy to work with.

    Pollen

This is a microscope slide of pollen. Think about it every time you wipe a car that has this junk on it! I'm not saying you shouldn't use the ONR, just take it easy when you do. It's always best to rinse this stuff off with water whenever possible. JMO.

    Polisher question.

My wife puts me on lockdown twice a year-my birthday, and Christmas! It wouldn't hurt to leave a Griot's catalog laying out in the open, or even better,(if you ask Mike Phillips!) a wishlist on Autogeek or a hint about a gift certificate.

Cleaning carbon build up on exhaust without slowly scratching off with polish.

Using a product in a manner it was not designed for is always a risky endeavor. I'm not saying it won't perform, but you are certainly in uncharted waters. My biggest concern would be using that product anywhere near a painted surface. Then there is also toxicity to think about. There are many...

    Building managment banned washing cars

Is there a coin-op spray car wash near you? If so, get two buckets with gamma seal lids and grit guards, fill them with wash and clean rinse water, and go to town. I'm lucky enough to have one two blocks from my house. In salt season (winter), it's my go-to method.

Mille arrival - any new updates?

I believe it's pronounced "Mill-eh". There was a video of Mike Phillips at SEMA, And that's how they pronounced it. Even Todd Helme went back and forth between "Mill-eh" and "Meal-ay", so don't feel bad if you struggle with it!

Mille arrival - any new updates?

First, AG only had the starter kit. Then, they had the deluxe kit. Both of those sold out quickly! I luckily ordered the deluxe kit as soon as I saw they were in stock. The deluxe kit is a good value, once you get used to Rupes pricing, if you know what I mean! Maybe AG customer service can give...
