    Paint issues after polishing

Go back to my earlier post that describes the look of what the pictures aren't really showing. If you were to look at the paint in person, it looked like the car was clean and drove down the road after a quick rain shower and the road grime was now splattered all over the car. the color looked...

    Paint issues after polishing

Just an update on removing the spots. We'll see if they come back again. If they do, then the owner will talk with the original painter. On Saturday, we decided to attack this issue. The owner tried removing the spots in his garage with some rubbing compound and saw that two passes seemed...

    Paint issues after polishing

I finally had a chance to get back to the neighbors and try to get more pictures. The camera is so stinkin' smart, it kept trying to overcorrect what I wanted pictures of. The area in the picture might be 3x3" or 4x4", so it's not very big. By using rubbing compound by hand, the marks went...

    Paint issues after polishing

During buffing, the pad remained "clean" with no vehicle color being transferred. The car has 3 coats of clear if I remember correctly. This car was directly under the tree and I was under the outer edge of the canopy. It amazes me that there are no marks on the windshield or back window...

    Paint issues after polishing

I went to take pictures, but the camera kept focusing on the object in the reflection and not the surface of the paint. I will need to try it again. We did try a few things and it seems that rubbing compound is removing the marks, but not very easily. I'm thinking about pulling out the flex...

[Help] BIG Water spots on my brand new Mazda3

You could always try washing the car with hot water. This will remove any wax that you have, but it also removes the hard water spots. If the spots appear to have left an "etched" in effect, you will then need a polisher with compound to clean it up.

    Paint issues after polishing

I need help from the experts. My neighbor has a dark red Camaro that was repainted four years ago. The paint was a professional job, with all trim, door handles, antenna, ground effects, side mirrors, etc removed. There was some inconsistencies in the clear coat and the painter buffed the car...

    Need help with DA purchase

Hey all, For Christmas, my wife got me the Porter Cable 7424XP from Home Depot ($119). Prior to Christmas, I was looking at the Griot's Garage polisher and the PC, but haven't been able to make up my mind. Now that I have the PC, should I keep it and get a backing plate, pads and polish, or...

    Hello from Orlando

Hey all. I've used the website for information in the past, but never registered. It seems that nobody uses the machine I have anymore, a Flex LK-603ve. For Christmas, my wife got me the PC 7424XP, so I decided to join the forums and learn how to use the newer DA and learn which pads and...
