I checked out the Cyclo DoublePrecision Blue & yellow 4 in pads. They seam pretty nice and work with a rotray. Has anyone tried out the LC wool compounding ball or any other type of ball/rotary polishing pads?

I've polished out some aluminum hatch frames. ( besides having them anodized again), what are the best options to keep them shiny and protect them from oxidizing? Wax, acrylic metal sealant, or some type of clear coat? I use flitz blue paste polish every so often to keep them really shiny...

Looking for some tips to improve applying compound by hand(mostly gel). Just areas where the buffer won't fit, so I can get the most even finish. Should I use a folded up MF or terry towel, MF applicator, compound foam applicator, pressure, number of passes, how often to clean/change applicator...

I've never done Hats, but just threw it out there. The one question that's hard to find is , how to tell if a boat is paint or gel-coat. Sometimes it's obvious ,at times it's hard to tell.

Anybody ever buff/polish varnish, I'm sure it's like polishing a thick clear coat, susceptible to the same uv, waterspots and scratching. I've seen a 3m video and they use regular compound, polish, and wax. I don't think anybody in the harbor does this, they just have there wood sanded/stripped...

Those look horrible! Could be Shoty gelcoat fabricating. You can feel them at all? They look like marks from rubbing aginist the dock or trailer.( cant tell where the scratches are from the picture)The boat was never re-gelled or painted at some point or a repair the wasn't properly filled and...

More force and pressure is concentrated in the area you are polishing by hand. Tried a rotary buffer?
