I'm guessing it's because those are slow moving products (the sizes). They pack it with kits in order to sell them faster. It's normal business practice. :)

I love the HT pads, these are the only pads i use with a rotary. The flats and ccs i use with the XP (which is uhmm..thrice?). And most of all, the pad is well built, foam material is sturdy and very different from the other pads. I never had any issues using them, no deformation, no foam...

Great work. Yeah appears to be a build up of dirt if there were no stains on the green pad with the IP. Are you using 6.5" pads? You should try keeping your work area below 14"x14" cause 20"x20" kind of seems too big for the pc. Yes, an orange pad would've taken the majority of the scratches...

The best way to know if you need a compound is to perform a test spot. Use a polish first, if you're not getting the desired results, you may want to step up to a compound for better cut. :) It is recommended to only polish when you need to remove paint damage or restore gloss and clarity...
