Mike, yes I opted for the 6.5" pads for a majority of the work and had no issues at all keeping the pads rotating unless I really tried (6' tall and 225 lbs) while keeping the pad flat. For tighter areas such as the bumpers I went with 5.5" pads and an LC 5" backing plate and it worked great...
