A friend in college hit a pothole in his GTI (BBS rims on it) and cracked the rim in two, which bottom'd out the car onto the underwork, denting the oil pan and destroying a brake caliper, and smashing some hardware around the sway bar. He ended up having to sue the CITY to get it repaired.
