    Afraid to marr paint!

You'll get a lot of different responses on this, but any polish is gonna suck to use without a machine. I'd recommend using Meguiar's Ultimate Polish bc no matter your experience level you can't really screw that up.

    Car Scents

How do you get it to last in cars. I have my method but if I can get it to last longer in my personal vehicles I'd be ecstatic. Right now I have the Honeydew and the Cherry but I'm looking at getting some more.

    Car Scents

Just wondering what everyone uses for scenting cars after doing the interior. I've used chemical guys and enjoy that, but want to know what other options are out there. Please no answers like, "I give them the smell of a cleaned car" Thanks for the help.

    Afraid to marr paint!

Use lots of lube and you wont have any issue with marring because the bar isn't insanely aggressive. If you're trying to strip off old wax so you can put something else on then use some dish soap to clean the car carefully. Note: Never do this unless you're trying to strip off an old wax...

    Can you layer spray wax

Technically you can, but I don't see why you would. If you go over the car and hit every spot you should be fine for more than one wash.

Help choosing my first detailing package?

Meguiars and chemical guys have videos online showing you how to use clay properly and I among others would also recommend getting a nanoskin clay sponge instead of a clay bar bc it'll speed things up and they're roughly the same price as OTC claybars

    Clay question

Probably stupid question, but how can I tell if I should use medium or fine grade clay. I'm a home guy so I've only had one type of clay, but I bought a nanoskin clay sponge recently to speed it up and it came with both fine and medium. Also is it harmful to use a medium if it doesn't need it...

Help choosing my first detailing package?

Clay is a must if you want to get the best look without spending a fortune. If you just use a good lube and enough of it with a good clay bar you won't scratch the car. If you want to get a little more into it you can use a product like IronX after to remove any leftover iron contaminants. But...

Help choosing my first detailing package?

For a wax, I and many others on this forum would easily recommend Collinite 845. I dont know if they would ship to you, but for the quality its worth the call to their office. Also have you considered whether you want to do a wax, a sealant, or both.

Dirty car has been sitting in cold for a month...best way to wash?

If there's anything that still looks bad after the touchless then just use a dilution of something like ONR and pre-treat the panel beforehand.

    Mike Phillips' books

So I've been detailing as a hobby for a few years, only doing the simple stuff and no full corrections until later this year. I was wondering first if you had to recommend only one of the following books which would it be: Mike Phillips' The Art of Detailing or Mike Phillips' The Complete Guide...

    Saving car wash for later

I usually don't do high volume so some days I just feel wasteful dumping it.

    Saving car wash for later

So I switch between using regular car wash solution and ONR for washing cars depending on how bad the car looks. I know that with ONR you can just put a Gamma Seal Lid on the five gallon bucket and then use it again in the near future. It doesn't seem like this would work with regular car wash...

    AIOs

So I've only really stepped up my detailing this year by upgrading my product quality and getting a DA and bc of this I'm considering starting a small part time driveway business. I see a lot of guys use AIOs, but being where I am I'm clueless as to what it is or when to use it so I was hopeful...

    Unused products

What was so bad you can't even give away. I'm really curious now

    Unused products

I think if Armor All had a buy back program then detailers would bankrupt the company. It makes me sad when I see a newcomer buy their stuff, always try to stop it when I see it.

    Unused products

I was wondering if I'm the only one with this problem, but I've found that since starting detailing at home a few years ago as a hobby to now where its a full blown love and hopefully soon to be small business, that I have products laying around that I've never used because I upgraded my arsenal...

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine

I don't know any coin-ops near me, so I'm just going to pretreat the panels and then use ONR as per instructions.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine

I don't have a spacious enough or warm enough garage to wash in so I'll probably wait until it gets above freezing.
