Thanks, I was reading some other thread and people said that they were able to change the backing plate and it was decent for the money. Just wondering now if you have any suggestions for polishing pads.

Also I was thinking of getting a 3in instead of a 6in because they are cheaper and and I can only get one so I want a uniform look around the car. Unless I should just go with the 6in.

What is it, when do I use it, how do I use it, and everything else about it. Just for reference: I currently do everything by hand, and I use UP and collinite 845 for polishing and waxing.

I use blue painter's tape with no problem and as people have said it is a preventative measure. I use a polish sometimes that will stain if it comes in contact with trim so when I use it I tape of trim.

The UC and UP work really well buy you only need the UC if there are scratches or swirls. Also while the polish does do a lot to help, IMO the wax is what really determines the shine factor. I use Collinite 845 and it really does help the shine of the car in addition to polish.

When I first started detailing engines everything I used came from the dollar store and today I still use it because it works fine.

I have used the product and honestly it will wear off like almost any other OTC trim restoring product, it looks good when you put it on but then slowly wears off.

I already used the Ultimate Compound and I do everything by hand right now b/c I only started this a year ago. Also I have looked into paint sealant but I am still very vague about them.
