Any final suggestions before I sell this smelly car?

It smells like cheap fragrance coverup that was sprayed on the car to cover up smoke smell or such. It's a disgusting air freshener type smell.

Any final suggestions before I sell this smelly car?

I bought a used car about 5 months ago. When it was 'detailed' it seems they sprayed it down with some sort of fragranced product. I had a pro come out and detail the thing, steam it, extract the carpets, etc. Smell went away. About 2 weeks later it's back in full force. I buy an ozone...

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Bingo. I think it's found. I took apart the center console completely today. No hidden fresheners, just some various candy and hairs. Sure enough, when i split open the components of the center console, out came that odor in full force. It's inside the center console. I'm gonna soak it all in...

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Unfortunately it was bought at an auction and then sold to me locally. I believe it came in like this.

I removed the top of the center console, which reeks of this 'chemical fragrance' stuff. She agreed that's the smell embedded into the car...

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Great info guys. The smell is still here. It has dissipated quite a bit, but it's there. If I sit in the back seat it's almost nothing, but it is quite strong in the front. I've determined that either the previous detailer, or previous owner, lathered up the car in an oily, armor-all type...

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Actually, this model doesn't have one. I did, however, order a Dorman air filter kit in which I cut a hole and install one myself. I will be doing that as soon as I get the smell out.

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Definitely. I put them in every car I have regardless because they keep the car odors minimal and clean. I usually do those fridge/freezer baking soda cartons under the seats and 1 charcoal bag per car. I'm certain either that or the baking soda or both helped the current situation as well...

Removing air freshener odor from used car

Found my dream car, a 2005 Yukon XL. The only issue is that the previous owner seemed to have an air freshener in the car that is overwhelming and aggravating my allergies. I have gotten a significant amount, maybe 50% of the smell out in the last week since I purchased it by doing the...
