    Enhancing Black Paint

I'm not a detailer at all, more of a DIY guy and years ago I purchased a Flex 3401 with some LC CCS pads to play around on my vehicle at the time. Well I never really put them to work much and now I finally have an opportunity to use the polisher. I purchased a black 2001 Silverado that had...

Advice On My New Project Truck

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to look for a parts truck that I can cut out the pieces I need to replace the rusted ones on this truck since the rest of the truck looks to be in pretty good condition. Once I get that done I'll try to buff out what's there and see how it turns out. If it...

Advice On My New Project Truck

I plan on tackling it myself. Plans are to sand down all the rust and remove the bad stuff then I’ll most likely use fiberglass to patch it as best as I can. I have a friend who use to do bodywork that I’ll probably reach out to for some advice.

Advice On My New Project Truck

Yeah and it's really dirty. Been sitting outside for years and never been washed. First thing is getting the truch mechanically sound and back on the road then I will address the exterior.

Advice On My New Project Truck

It would be the factory black color that’s on the truck. Just wouldn’t do the two tone and would debadge it.

Advice On My New Project Truck

Underneath looked good from what I saw. I thought about removing the fender flares but they came stock on this truck. If I do paint the whole truck then I would remove them and paint it all a solid black color.

Advice On My New Project Truck

As much as possible but I do want to keep it simple. I got a set of stock OEM wheels from a buddy of mine that were in bad shape. I tried some aircraft stripper on them to see if it would remove the corrsion but it didn't work so I gave them a little hand sanding, primmer, paint and clear coat...

Advice On My New Project Truck

This is an option as well. Just not sure how I feel about a single stage paint job which are their cheaper options. I've heard that our local maaco shop does pretty good work though.

Thanks. I have a older Flex 3401, think it will be able to get the job done?

Advice On My New Project Truck

I purchased a 2001 Silverado 1500 Z71 from a buddy of mine for $500. It's been sitting for some years and does need some work to get back onto the road. Truck only has around 120K miles and has never been in a accident. Body is pretty straight from what I can see but there are a couple of rust...

    Ridgid Auto Detailing Kit

Thanks fellas for the info. I was hoping to just have one hose and be able to use the extensions that come with the vac whenever I needed them for home repair work and around the garage. I'm not a detailer by any means but I do try and keep up my own vehicles. I use to have a 16 gallon vac...

    Ridgid Auto Detailing Kit

I purchased a new Ridgid 4 Gallon Shop Vac and while I was at Home Depot I noticed they had a Ridgid Auto Detailing Kit so went ahead and grabbed it too. It came with a few hose attachments but the attachments that came with the shop vac do not fit the hose that came with the kit. Anyone ever...

    Removing Overspray On New Vehicle

Thanks for the replies fellas. Looking to follow up with a AIO polish after I remove the overspray. Looking at trying out either Poorboys Polish with Sealant or 3D HD Speed. Which would you guys recommend?

    Removing Overspray On New Vehicle

A Clay Alternative would not be recommended compared to just using Clay? My biggest issue is time. Don't have a whole lot of time on my hands but also don't want to cause anymore damage to the paint. If a clay alternative will do the job and save me time I'd like to go that route but if it's...

    Removing Overspray On New Vehicle

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'll go ahead and take care of it myself. I like the idea of using the Speedy Prep Towel. But do you guys think the Med might be a little to aggressive on the new paint?

    Removing Overspray On New Vehicle

I just purchased my new 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck at the beginning of the year. It's White in color and had came with some black fender flares which I did not like. Took it to a small paint and body shop a couple weeks back to have them color match them to the color of the truck. Finally got...
