What speed would be good to use this on with a flex 3401? Will be using a white pad too. Will I have to finsh down with a final polish? This will be done on my own personal cars to maintain them. Not looking for 100% paint correction either.

I was messing around with my flex 3401 yesterday trying to learn how to use it. Tested it on the hood of one of my cars. I was using a orange pad with some PB SSR 2.5 & after a few passes I noticed that it was shooting dust everywhere from the polish. Why is this???

Isn't the backing plate 5.5"? The pads I have are 6.5". Are they too big for the Flex? Also, what di I need to tape off?

Thanks! I did that & then polished out my girlfriends headlights with some PB SSR products. They came out great! That was my first time using any type of polisher.
