Dawn power dissolver don't use it!

I don't agree with this at all. I've been using DPD for years to clean my pads and I have never had a pad's life get cut short. I feel that as long as you use the product properly (yes I know it's not made for pads so it's not proper to use it but I mean don't over use it) that it will be...

    Help with wet sanding

So I have wet sanded several times with great results when it comes to removing scrathes, RIDS etc. However I have a car to play with that has loads of orange peel after a crappy Macco repaint. I have started to do some sanding and was wondering a few things 1. Wet sanding small scratches by...

Wheel wells are going to be the death of me

They are a huge PITA. I usually use Amazing Roll Off every 3rd detail or so or ass needed. If I don't clean them perfectly Adams Undercarriage Spray does a really good job of making them look good. Oh and it just sprays on, no need to apply by hand! :xyxthumbs:

Car wash and wheel cleaning questions...

I usually do an ONR wash so I use about 2 gallons of water. Generally that is plenty of water for me to just about any vehicle. No you don't have to wet the wheels. If I am breaking out the wheel cleaner (on regular washes I just use soapy water from the bucket) I usually spray it on dry...

    Marketing your car detailing business

Has craigslist worked well for you? I had an add but there are two problems. 1. There is sooooo much competition on craisglist mostly from cheap subpar detailers that say they can do miracles for $50 so alot of people get scammed into that. 2. I've found that the clientele I've gotten from...

    Marketing your car detailing business

It depends how big the forum is. Some of the bigger ones get expensive, but they might offer different levels of sponsorship. On one of the site I used I paid $50 or so a month I believe, and I was able to post as a sponsor and quote prices etc. which regular members were not allowed to do...

    Suzuki V-Strong

EDIT: Title should say V-Strom....I guess I was typing too fast. This bike was pretty beat up and the owner wanted to get as much of the paint corrected as possible. The bike had been dropped a few times so the rest of the bike (engine block, various controls) weren't in great shape. So I did...

    Marketing your car detailing business

For free you can start a group or page on Facebook and have all your friends join, then their friends will see it, and their friends...so on and so forth. I haven't gotten a ton of business through this but I have gotten a few and hey, it was free. Also for cheap you can make flyers and pass...

    talk about a barn find...

one mans trash is another mans treasure. I wouldn't pay $200k for it, but if I had some extra cash lying around I wouldn't mind resoring a piece of automotive history like that.

Which pad type do you prefer?

I've been using CCS pads for a while and the only one that collapsed was a white one and it was due to me applying too much pressure and putting the polish in the middle of the pad. Since then I have adjusted my pressure and put the product on the outter edge and all of my pads have a very long...

    Products we don't use

I will save most of mine just incase I run out of my go to product for that specific use, that way I will still have a back up product. Like I don't use Body Solvent at all anymore, but if I happen to run out of TAW I know I will have something to still get the job done, just maybe not as...
