:iagree: This is very true especially on newer model cars. The best you can do is use distilled water very sparingly to clean the material. Using any top coating as mentioned above only adds to the splotchs.

Collinite 920 fiberglass cleaner works great on gel coat. I use it on boats and follow with Collinite 885. Very easy to use with a green LCC pad and the PC. Not sure how it stands up against chlorine. Be sure to read the label or call Collinite for health concerns. You may also want to check...

Hey Camaro2010, same thing happened to me. All the suggestions above are great. After cleaning, you may not get 100% of the stain out but they will be usable again. As many have said before, don't close the bag.
