    Piece of Junk

Are you talking about a Griot's Garage polisher or the 7424?

    Piece of Junk

I was using my 7424 today when it broke from the spindle. The spindle looks like it's only 1/8th of an inch thick. What a piece of junk. And I've had it for 5 or 6 years but I've only used it like 10 times. Does anyone know if the Griot's Garage Polisher is any good because I don't want to...

What color pad to start with???

What kind of polish did you buy with your PC? If you got the XMT polishes, start off with the Orange pad and XMT #3 and follow it up with a White pad and XMT #1. When you start, be patient and make sure the polish is fully broken down before wiping it off. When I first got my PC, I wasn't...

Using 6.5" pads with 5.0" backing plate

D Nyholm, are you using a Porter Cable or a Rotary. It sounds like you're using a Rotary and not a Porter Cable.

    Menzerna Power Gloss

Try using the Power Gloss with a Yellow pad. I had to polish a BMW X5 once and using that combo was the only way to get the severely neglected surface corrected. I followed the Power Gloss/Yellow pad with XMT #1 and a White pad and the results were awesome.

New car what do I use to maintain it?

That package is a little pricey but if you could swing it, then that's a great place to start. You might want to wax your car as soon as possible since its been on the dealer lot and I doubt it has any wax protecting the paint.

    Detailing boo boo (w/ PC)

I know what you're talking about. The same kind of swirls happened to me while doing a friend's Xterra. The hood has a mean curvature and while I was going over the curve with a 5.5 inch orange pad and XMT #3 and saw those circular marks in the crease of the curvature. I think it was caused...

    Not that happy with XMT#1..

Maybe the clearcoat on the car you were polishing was some hard stuff. I used XMT #2 with an orange pad on an Xterra and there was some considerable hazing. After switching to XMT #1 with a white pad, it got all the hazing out. I recently did a Mercedes CL where I used XMT #3 with an orange...

    mothers clay...how is it?

I agree Mother's clay is good stuff but they only sell the clay bar in a kit. It comes with the Showtime QD, a small bottle of cleaning wax and a small 2.8 oz bar of clay for $18 bucks. A little pricey if you ask me.

    VW Touareg

Thanks for the reply guys. Hey pirex, I should've done this before I posted but I just checked out the VW website and the Touareg V6's interior is upholstered in what they call letherette. So I'm assuming that letherette is pleather so I pose the question again. Should I use the Lexol or...

    VW Touareg

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has cleaned the interior of a VW Touareg. I have to clean one soon and my client told me the interior was pleather which I'm assuming is plastic leather. My main question is do I use regular leather cleaner and conditioner on the pleather seats? I have the...

    Window cleaning help please!!!

I agree with DatDude. I spray Stoner's Invisibible Glass on the windows, then I wipe with a microfiber towel and then buff all the streaks off with a dry microfiber and the streaks come right off. Before I discovered microfiber, I use to use a mini squeegee which would leave the inside windows...
