I give you...pure stupidity in the form of washing

It's because of videos such as this that there are so many basic detailing questions asked. People find videos like this, then read information here (or on the AG product pages) and it conflicts... which then leads to asking the basic questions over and over - hoping to find truth.

    Embedded material in the paint.

Not sure if this will make a difference for you, but a thread that I read this morning... http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/72092-af-iron-out-better-than-ironx.html

    Clay

I think that may be precisely the problem... there is sooo much information on it, and the fact that it's not necessarily the same information. As easy as it is to find good information, it's just as easy (if not easier) to find bad information.

    Gift Cards

+1 for this. This year, each adult is writing down a list of 5 items they want (one of mine will be an AG GC), and drawing names as to who each person buys for. With a big family, this is an alternative that we are trying out this year, as opposed to each person buying for everyone which gets...

Can someone educate me on Iron-X?

I haven't used it yet, but from some reading I've done I was under the impression that it changed color when removing iron deposits. I thought it stayed the same color if the surface is clean...

    Magnetic sign damage to paint

I know someone who had one on their vehicle long enough that the rubber backing of the magnet actually melted to the paint... it was a black vehicle.

    Peeling and Flaking

Paint correction to the rest of the car, is going to make the damaged areas stick out more... thus appear worse than they already are.

    Peeling and Flaking

Without pics it's hard to be 100% sure, but this sounds like clear coat failure to me. If that's the case there is nothing you can do to repair it other than re-spray.

The one of the rear spoiler was a terrible picture... it's actually not etched. The car was freshly painted about 6 wks ago and I've been keeping it clean since. It's actually similar to what is shown on the hood... both spots appear (to me) like something [bug?] landed on the clear while it was...

Quoting myself so that this post follows what I was talking about above... In 1 day, 4 hours, 53 minutes of up time for my router since installing the firewall and getting it up and running I've had 349 packets and 25,164 bytes dropped. All of these attempts originated outside the US!

So I got up early [relative] this morning and got a quick wash in. I finished drying with a waffle weave and decided I would pull out the camera and grab some pics. Most of these are of some flaws that I've found since having it painted... I'm hoping that some, if not all, will be able to be...

    Detailing Art @ Work

When I think of them, I always remember seeing this time lapse for the first time: Chasing Landscapes - A Time-Lapse video from the road on Vimeo Not a GREAT time-lapse, but 22,000+ pictures! While trying to find the one above to link here, I found this one about landscapes (much more...

    Detailing Art @ Work

Nicely done. A tripod and intervalometer (can be set to automatically take a picture ever X seconds) would be very helpful for something like this.

I don't do anything quite like that, but I have a total of (6) tuners which I am able to record from; 4 tuners are dedicated to ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox, while the other 2 are for premium channels such as Discovery, ESPN, TLC, etc. The latter are encrypted by my provider so they are received via...

I installed DD-WRT on my network router. You can find out if your router is supported here: Router Database | www.dd-wrt.com Just start typing in the manufacturer or model of your router and a list will be generated of supported devices. Note, that many models have various version releases...

I'm not worried about a targeted attack... I know I can't stop those guys and I'm not going to bother trying. I'm trying to stop the thousands of bots that try to continuously on a daily basis. My firewall is now setup to automatically drop any incoming packets that originate outside the US ;)

Spare time?! What's that? :D Well, Monday is a holiday for me, so I decided to take today off to net a 4-day weekend. I got up early expecting to wash my wife's Explorer. About the time I was done with the wheels she came out and told me that she decided that she was going to run errands... so...

You definitely have options here... you can certainly have an OEM alternator re-built/modified to a higher output (most alternator/generator repair shops can do this). Additionally, you can purchase an aftermarket High Output alternator as well - they usually aren't cheap, but it will likely...
