Should somebody who has never used a machine before start out using a Flex? Is it "too much" for a beginner? Is it something more geared for those who do lots of cars instead of maybe just one or two cars every year?

I would drop the 6.5 pads down to 5.5 and get a 5.5 backing plate. From what I've read 5.5's work better with the PC style DAs. There's also a kit here on AG that gets you both Daytona brushes for cheaper.

I agree. Use a good cleaner and I think you'll be OK.

Which Optimum polish are you using with the MF pad?

I don't want to steal 2011Mustang5.0's thunder here, but my car sounds like it's in almost the same condition. Lots of minor swirls and some random fine scratches. It also has some touchup paint areas. I'm thinking of going with the BF Duo Kit. Would the BFSRC be overkill for minor swirls...

Oh yes, I switched from machine drying to hang drying also. I don't trust my dryer at all to suck up all the lint that's floating around in there.

I also tried the Vroom brand from Target. They lasted about 5 washes before they began to lint. I'm starting to think it's inevitable that linting will happen, it's just a matter of time! One thing I started doing when I picked up some higher quality MF was to also wash it using the MF...

Nice to meet ya! I'm from Bolingbrook and also have a 2011 Kona Blue Mustang GT. I picked mine up used and so far am loving it! I used to have a Black 2010 GT.

I heard the eliminated the Kona color because of the Tsunami. I guess it came from Japan and production wasn't restarted after the disaster. I was also told that Tuxedo Black came from the same plant but they found another one to manufacture it and it doesn't quite look the same.

I still use my Megs Water Magnets but I no longer use their supreme shine towels. After about three washes they began to lint really bad. As far as I can tell, once a towel begins to lint, it will lint forever until it dissolves like an old pair of underwear. I haven't tried the Cobra's yet...

I was able to do some correction by hand using SwirlX on my wife's Focus. It took forever to do a small spot to my liking. I'll be waiting on the DA before I try the rest of the car.

I bought it when AG first started carrying it. Love it. Use it every time after I wash the car. Sometimes when I'm walking behind a woman on the street and I catch a whiff of her perfume, it kinda smells like "stripper scent". I think the guys at CG nailed it.

I've heard of it and I've tried it. Added it in during the final rinse cycle. Then I bought some dedicated MF cleaner and didn't worry about it. In my mind it worked, but I have not quantifiable evidence. We should come up with a dedicated "softness" scale for grading Microfiber products!

Are the four inch pads small enough to take care of most tight areas on a 2011 Mustang? I'm thinking "yes", but would like to see if anybody else has used them before buying.

Does the PC come with a five inch backing plate? If not you'd probably want to pick up a LC 5 inch backing plate if you're going with 5.5 inch pads.
