    Bay Washing ?'s

How about using ONR and UWWP? ONR and UWWP are my go to products when water restrictions are in effect in my area. I use a home depot 1 gallon sprayer filled with an ONR solution to presoak each panel. Then I use a bucket with 2 gallons of ONR mix to wash my vehicle. I use UWWP to maintain...

Detailing a Mustang Wednesday, help with AIO or 1 step.

I've been topping XMT 360 with Optimum car wax since it's so easy to use (just as easy as a quick detail spray.) I've been very happy with the results.

3" on a 6" Griots will it work?

I use a 3.5" backing plate with 4" pads for tight areas with no issues with my Griots. I ended up removing the handle as well to better manuveur in tight areas.

    Best products to get started

I think you'd be better off not ordering the kit. The pads are too large. Go with the 5.5" pads which are 7/8" thick and a 5" backing plate- much easier to work with and control. I'd go with orange and white pads. More white than orange as the white are very versatile. As far as product...

Best spray wax for the price- 1/5 gallon

:iagree: I used S100 wax (and P21S wax previously) for years as my LSP. I've been so impressed with Optimum Car Wax, once I finish the S100 product I have on hand, I plan to use Optimum Car Wax exclusively. I've been using it like a quick detail spray after a wash. It's so easy to use and...

    Spray wax or quick detailer?

I use Optimum Spray Car Wax instead of a detail spray. I've been very happy with OCW.

    5'' backing Plate for Griots

You should not have problems using pads from other manufacturers as long as the pad uses hook & loop to attach to the backing plate. I've been using the LC 5" and 3.5" backing plates on Griot's polisher with no problems. I recommend the 5.5" pads which are 7/8" thick as they are much easier to...

    Detail Spray

I really like UWWP for cleaning when the vehicle is not really dirty i.e. dust, pollen, etc. I use ONR when the vehicle is dirtier. A traditional wash is not an option in my area when water restrictions are in place (such as the case currently). If the vehicle is really dirty, I'll take it to...

I used XMT 360 for the first time this past weekend, and it disappeared as the bottle indicated.

What's a good one step AIO Polish?

:iagree: I used XMT 360 for the first time this past weekend on a 6 year old daily driver which is kept outside 24x7. I was surprised at how well it worked. It left a smooth glossy finish and was very easy to use. Were all the defects removed - no, but that was not my goal. The goal was to...

New Black Z Just Detailed and now... Water Spots!

If the leaf blower works for you stick with it. I didn't like it because I could dry the car faster using a drying towel than using the leaf blower. Check out UWWP+ as well. I've been using it to keep my C6 clean between washes, and it works great! It leaves a nice gloss as well. It works...

New Black Z Just Detailed and now... Water Spots!

Yes - a black C6 is a lot of work to maintain. There is a reason all my other vehicles are white! As a fellow black C6 owner, I can sympathize. I've owned mine for nearly five years and the paint looks fairly good considering it is my daily driver. I tried the leaf blower initially and...

    Longest lasting spray wax?

I used to use FK 425 after every wash as well, but I've been using OCW in lieu of FK 425. The look OCW provides on my black Corvette is just plain awesome. I am using OCW as a QD since it's been so easy to use. I have not experienced any issues with streaking that others have noted.

    Wrong choices?

I have a black car as well, and you are correct in that you will not remove every defect. Reduction rather than total elimination is the goal (at least for me). Once you are done correcting, work on your washing technique to reduce the introduction of swirls, etc. Did you mark your backing...

    Polisher Price Showdown

A PC, GG, etc all will do a great job. Technique and proper usage of the products (pads, polish, etc) will make the bigger difference. I would recommend going with a 5" backing plate and 5.5" pads which are 7/8" thick. The lower profile pads are much easier to work with and control. In...

    Hard water and UWW

Even factoring in the cost of distilled water, UWWP is still, by far, the most economical waterless wash. If you decide to use distilled water, use 3oz of UWWP per gallon.

    Hard water and UWW

My area has hard water as well, and I use UWWP with tap water. I do not treat the water prior to using. I have not had any issues with using UWWP. It works great especially with softening and removing bugs. I know others use distilled water so you may consider it.

    first time polishing combo...

I use 5.5" orange and white pads with 105/205. Test an area using the least aggressive combo. I start with M205 and a white pad.
