i dont like to hijack the thread but i have the same problem and i have brand new paint. 4 months old.

just wetsanded my grand national, used 2000 grit then 3000 grit on a da sander. i painted it over the winter and had it sit for a few months now. tomarrow i will compound and polish using m105 and ultimate polish with a meg's g110 polisher.

i used it on my gmc and it has white dust on it and i hosed it off twice.

the holes on older cars are for aligning the emblem. i would take measurements before you remove the emblems. 3m makes the emblem adheasive as a tape form then you have to cut out the letters so the tape dont show. i am repainting my buick grand national and i am going to paint the emblems...
