Swirls vs 5 Autogeek Detailers/Hobbyist (pic heavy)

Thanks everyone. This was my first time working with such a talented crew. I learned a ton and had a blast, and can attest to the validity of the claims made by the photos. The truck looked great! Now, we did have a few neighbors wondering what was up, but it was mostly people who thought we...

Hello from the SF Bay Area, California

Hey guys. Just confirmed with my wife that Saturday, October 18 works for us. If that date is good for all of you, then let's lock it in. As for cars, we only have one—the 2014 VW SportWagen I've posted about a few times. It would be fun to work on, but I'm sure someone here has a vehicle in...

Yup, I'm willing and my wife gave her seal of approval :xyxthumbs: The weather will have cooled off by October so that will be nice too.

Trouble with haze and tick marks after DA Polishing

WHAT?! That wasn't part of the deal. You can have them back at the detail fest. Seriously, that's too nice of you. I'm going to order the 5" Megs MF kit as well as the 3" supplies when they become available. Would love to try some! Bring it to the North California meetup/detail fest, whenever...

Trouble with haze and tick marks after DA Polishing

One more thing… I did not try the Menzerna polish, Xtra Cut pad, or the cyan cutting pad, because the D300 and regular MF cutting pad were enough. I took Mike's advice to start with the least aggressive products and was satisfied with my results. I'll save the Menzerna to test on a couple of...

Trouble with haze and tick marks after DA Polishing

Hi everyone. Thanks again for you help. I have great news: the problems are SOLVED! Here's what I did. Method fly07sti was very kind in letting me borrow a few items to test out. We met up on Thursday and he sent me home with: Meguiars MF Cutting and Xtra Cut pads LC Hydrotech Cyan pad...

Heads Up So Cal Geeks: New Water Use Fines

Hi Coopers. New California resident here. On one hand I agree with you. I take "navy showers" so the water is only running for about 60 seconds total (~2 gallons) when I shower, which is not even every day (sorry if that's too much information). If a neighbor criticized me for washing my car...

Need help on advertising my mobile detailing business

Never mind. I searched a couple of threads on the topic and found the answer: ONR as a QD doesn't give the same gloss as a dedicated QD. Sorry to intrude in the thread.

Need help on advertising my mobile detailing business

Sounds great. Out of curiosity, why do you recommend the Meguiars Last Touch Detailer when you could make quick detailer out of ONR. I don't own either product, so I'm just wondering what would be better about one vs the other.

    Detailing Bootcamp in Bay Area?

Hi folks, I recently joined AGO and some of us have started reviving the conversation about a SF Bay Area meet up. Here's the thread if you'd like to talk some more about it: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/introduce-yourself/82854-hello-sf-bay-area-california.html

Hello from the SF Bay Area, California

If it's going to take a couple of months, then the heat in SJ won't be so bad. It's not really that bad in my garage either, as long as the doors are open. But by September, it will be comfortable. Like I said I don't have the biggest space, but it might work if we can't find another venue.

I was wondering about the Motor City reference too. Didn't catch the area code issue mused but that makes sense. If you need a local number that can forward to your current phone, you might want to check out Google Voice.
