I recently purchased a Canon S3 IS... I absolutely love the camera. It's probably not even close to SLR quality, but it's a lot better than my old s500 or sd500... It has adjustable aperture and shutter settings, along with a few other settings like portrait, nightshot, etc... I'm still playing...

Is the hood heavily swirled? I've found surfaces with heavy swirling to be very "sandpaper-like" even after a good claying...

I would suggest velcro pads and backing plates for PC because I've heard the edge system connector blows up very fast on the PC, and the guy from edge recommends minimal use even on speed 5... so unless you plan on using the PC on speed 4-5 for just minimal polishing/finishing, I'd go with LC pads

storm, they're called edge pads, not eagle They're both fine and both systems work well, so if you really can't decide, order one, and if you like it stick to it, or just try both at once...

I was planning on starting out with Makita/orangeLC6.5" or Meg's yellow pad/Meg's#80... I do have a PC as well but I do most details with the rotary since it's much faster and I get better results... I did think about maybe finishing with PC... I'll probably try out PC/whiteLC/Meg's #80 or 82...

Anthony, have you ever worked on a 03 911 turbo? I'm going to be doing one of these next Tuesday, and form my experience, the paint was on the hard side... I guess I'm just asking for the hell of it since I'll be trying out a few spots anyway to see what works best :p
