Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

I haven't coated my car yet. Winter is finally starting to subside here. In all my years here this was one of the most brutal winters I can remember. Anyways, I should be able to turn my exterior taps back on in a week or so. I will probably wait until mid to late April before I get to it as...

    CanCoat Application Problems

I put on two layers of CanCoat earlier this week. Man o man that stuff is fantastic. It's so easy to use. It's basically like using Megs Fast Finish. I suspect it will have much better durability though. The gloss is a lot better the MFF which doesn't really add any gloss at all. I would...

Review - Gyeon Leather Shield (Leather Coating)

I tried leathershield out last night. I ran into some issues. This is a brand new car with only 65 km's on it. I used Gyeon leather cleaner on the seats before using the coating. First, I found that the block you wrap the suede cloth around is pretty much useless for car seats. There a way...

Review - Gyeon Leather Shield (Leather Coating)

I was thinking of doing a second coat on the driver side seat only. Do yo know how long between coats? I wonder it's even worth it to do a second coat?

    CanCoat Application Problems

There are a few threads discussing CanCoat and I think I read in one of them that you can use multiple layers. Can anyone confirm if you can layer CanCoat or I'm I just wiping off the first layer when applying the second layer? If so how many hours between coats?

Review - Gyeon Leather Shield (Leather Coating)

Can Gyeon Leather Shield be used on ventilated seats?

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

I totally agree. I wouldn't go over the 24 month mark. I would ideally want to do a polish and then apply a coating in spring, so I can enjoy the car over the summer. The 18 month mark would be right before going into the second winter, so there would be no point in doing a polish and coating...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

I decided against doing that. I'm not going to polish it out after a year. I'll go the full life span of the coating. I suspect around 24 months and it will probably be close to it's end life by then. At that point I will probably do a full polish. There is always the chance that if I like...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

Thanks for all the input for everyone. Thanks Budget for all the additional info you provided. I'm going to try out a coating once spring arrives. I need to try one out just to ease my curiosity. In the meantime I am hoping to try out CanCoat. We have a warm break in the weather right now...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

Great info. Thanks. The retailer I purchase from said a similar thing. He thought that with our harsh winters that One may not be the way to go and I might be better of with Pure instead. Going with One and then adding a layer of cancoat right before winter may just be enough. Great info as...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

Yes I guess that question probably sounded dumb, but I just wasn't sure if simply losing beading properties meant that a ceramic coating has completely deteriorated. I guess if I were to do a chemical decontamination and the beading came back to life then the coating is probably still present...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

I've contemplated trying out a coating and stumbled onto this product review. The idea of a 1 year coating appeals to me. I have some questions on maintenance and whether a coating is the way to go. I wash my car 1 to 2 times a week from the mid April to early October months. I've used...

    A waterless wash question

I have a black car and I'm OCD as heck. I drive my wife crazy. Anyways, I live in a dusty and windy province so my car gathers a light layer of dust rather quickly. I do a lot of waterless/rinseless washes. Using a combination of both is the best method. Here's the products I use: Wolfgang...

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

Here is the picture I mentioned in the above post. I got my hands on some Sonax perfect finish, so I'm going to try that with a few different pads just to see if it's possible to get the job done in 1 step without the haze/marring. Otherwise this will most likely be my combo going forward...

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

Just an update here. I was going to post a picture of a test section I did but it looks there are some issue's with picture/gallery right now. I'll add the pic later once the issue is fixed, but I'll ask my questions anyways. On my test section I used GG correcting cream with orange pad as a...

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

Thanks Mike. A two step is probably the way to go. It's funny because 99% of the swirl marks I have were from the dealership. I'm pretty meticulous with my washing techniques and routine. It's probably worth it to do a two step now and then I will probably only need to go with a one step...

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

I tried WGFG3.0 with a LC black thin profile pad. It took care of the haze/micro-marring. I tested the trunk area with a 3 different combo's. The spaces I tested were smaller so I used 3 small drops of polish on the pad. 1) WGFG3.0 + black pad, speed 4, 4 passes - this did a minor correction...

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

Oops, typo on my part there. I meant 15mm. I've heard nothing but good things about perfect finish. Another combo to keep in mind. Thanks

Is this DA Haze? Black Acura - How to Fix?

It was 5.5" pad that I used. In addition to taking Mike's recommendation and using a fine cut polish with less aggressive pad, I will also test the S20 with a less aggressive pad to see how it works as well. Thanks for your info.
