    Edge 2K quick change/dbl sided pad ?'s

I know, another thread on these pads, but I have to get an answer to this before I take the plunge. I am still very worried about the center drive possibly hitting the paint. My question is how is this prevented at all costs? I am guessing the center of the pad is some sort of backing plate...

Teflon or Sealant, or is it the same thing?

The sealant a lot of places use is a DCX(dodge, chrysler, mb) product from many years ago. I'm not sure what its claim on teflon is, but teflon in any wax/sealant is only going to help in allowing surface dirt to come off easier. There are several issues in getting teflon to bond to paint...

    Noob's first detail, opinions please.

Looks very nice. I am surprised you get good longevity out of NXT. I found it to wear off very quickly. I have black cars and didn't like the look as much as other sealants/waxes I have used, either. Todd

Talk is talk and results are, well, FACTS!!!

Well, I have been here only a short while and I have read your comments. I have NEVER used AG products before, but I have a ton of products purchased from them now. I finished up my 2004 Dodge Ram, in the awesome shade of black, the other day and wanted to share a few shots. This is a full...

    First impressions PC and pads

I agree. I have gotten good results with a rotary and foam pads in the past. Those where the old pads, though, and the new foam pads are much better quality. I have some of the Lake Country pads on arriving this week and will start working with them. It will be a long time before I move to...

    First impressions PC and pads

Well, I have put the PC to the test and I am impressed with its capabilities, but I am a bit taken back by how long it takes to get results. I put the orange pad to work using the XMT fine swirl remover and was surprised to find it takes a ton of time and speed 5 to 6 on the PC to get results I...

    carpet extractor advise

I have been looking at the Mytee line. They aren't up to the level of the Cobra units, but they appear to have great features and a good price. The HP60 looks to be a good unit and you can find it for under $1K. Anyone use any of the MyTee line of extractors? Todd

Light sanding of scratch, can PC remove

Thank you guys for the feedback. I have the complete (#2 and #3) Poorboys line up of polishes/compounds on my next order and I will give them a try with the orange pad. I'll remember the rule, too, start out with a finer polish and work up to more aggressive if not successful. Todd

    Another Newbie

Hello all!!! I am another newbie to your site. Scott(KillerWheels) provides excellent tips and such on a forum I visit often and I decided to look into detailing as a business. I have been detailing cars for about 18 years in a semi-professional manner(friends, neighbors). I have never...

PC and what can it remove/can't remove?

Hello. I am pretty new to this forum and I am very new to the PC DA unit. I have some neighbors and friends that I detail cars for in a general sense. Not professional and not to the point of removing scratches. Now, I am looking at doing this as a serious business and have some questions...

Light sanding of scratch, can PC remove

Okay, if I needed to use 2500 or 3000 grit wet sanding to remove a scratch in the clear coat, is it possible for the PC remove the sanding marks with the right pad/compound combination? I am really hoping I can do this with something like Poorboys 3.0 and a yellow cutting pad or maybe even an...

    No clear

Typically, tinted clearcoat cars have an additional paint option cost to them. GM is doing this with a few colors on the Corvettes and I have heard of other brands as well. I'm not sure about Lexus's paint job at the factory, but I can say that the few I have looked at real well seem to be...

Miracle MF towel versus Detail MF towel

I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on these two products for me. I see a lot of info on the incredible Miracle towel. However, the Cobra Detailing MF towel is listed as a higher thread count and a 70%/30% MF towel. It seems to me that the detailing towel is the way to go for...

    Hitachi buffer vs the others....?

Thank you for the replies. I am going to move forward on a purchase of the Hitachi. Autogeek has it for something like 40.00 less than the Makita. Can't beat the price. Todd

    Hitachi buffer vs the others....?

I am going to get a rotary buffer and start honing in my skills with it over the next few months. I get great reviews of Hitachi power tools locally and was wondering what you all think of the Hitachi buffer versus the Makita. These two are the lightest of the units out there, so I would like...
