    LSP stripping

I dont use more than 15% in my Garage. Though the online directions for 22ple does say to use a 50% IPA wipe down before applying. Also it is obvious why a higher molarity of IPA would be more dangerous. Same reason why a 1 molar HCL solution is less dangerous than a 6 molar HCL solution...

    LSP stripping

I would not use anything more than 50% IPA just to be safe.

    Still getting sanding marks

I would recommend moving up to 2500 grit sand paper and then up to 3000 before you start to buff. That should do the trick. When I wet sand something I normally go till 2500 then go to fg400 with a MF cutting pad. Since you dont have that you need to go to a finer grit sandpaper for better results.

Best way to fix this scratch??

A body shop will not charge you anywhere close to $500. I could see maybe $30-$50. This would not be respraying, just wet sanding and polishing. The process may take all of 15-20 min to do. If you were close to the va beach area I would gladly just fix it for the cost of materials. I try to help...

DON'T WASH CAR! by Mike Phillips

Re: Don't wash car !!!!!!!!!!! This is amazing. One time I told them not to wash my car and they did and I was so pissed. Here is a picture of a porsche panamera that has 1000 miles on it. It was given to my dad as a rental car when his car was in for service.

Best way to fix this scratch??

As being as inexperienced as you are take it to a body shop. If you say it catches easily on your fingernail than it is going to be wet sanded and then polished out. Since you dont have the equipment and skills this is not a job for you to try and tackle. They should be able to make it look...

How "Least Aggressive" Do You Get When Doing A Test Spot?

I generally start with a gray pad and sf4500. If that does not work I bump up to a white pad and sf4500. If that does not work I bump to orange pad with IP2000 or SI1500. If that does not work MF cutting pad and FG400. If that does not work 3000 grit sand paper.

    Whose fault is it, really?

I only trust my car in my own hands or my preferred body shop.

Thanks I have never dealt with a single stage paint before so I have not done too much research on them. Thanks for the info. This one has to be one of the best examples of a single stage done.

    Throwing in the towel...

Man I hope you are feeling better. I normally find detailing very relaxing. Just think about it. It is only you and your car. I put my phone down always. No one bothers you. You are making it into too much of a "job" it should be fun. Even though I run my own detailing business and it is my job...

SpeedFreak Detailed: $200,000 custom black 1957 Corvette - full correction

I am wondering to myself why they did this car in a single stage paint job since it was painted recently. Why not go with a multistage and spray a few more layers of clear to sand down to perfection. I guess you cant really argue with the results though. Do you mind sharing the PT readings you...

You did a great job restoring the paint. This is just an example of an amazing paint job also. Who ever painted the car my hat goes off to you. Im guessing the whole car was wet sanded to remove orange peel at some point.

Thinking of wet sanding my whole car - advice wanted

Do not advise the guy to do something so stupid. He is for sure way out of his league here. He does not even have a PTG!!! Let alone the years of experience needed to do this. He did not even think of going to grab a rotary with a wool pad... to me this seems like he is going way way way way way...

Looking for a complete detail flowchart

Ya I was messing around with glazes the other day and dont like them. It seems to me as if they are just a cheap way to FILL IN swirls for a short period of time. Just polish correctly and there is no need for one. Thats my opinion at least.

    Flex DA polisher Questions

I dont know what your condition is, but if you do not have a lot of strength in your arms I could see the flex being hard to use. It will throw you around if you are not using proper technique. I have seen it happen to others and had it happen to myself late into a two stage polish when your...
