Opticoat 2.0 discontinued, OptiCoat Pro sees price increase

That then would not make them "asshats". IF someone wants to start a business correctly then they are not the ones being called an "asshat". Can you understand that? My description of an "asshat" is some person (lets use detailers here) who reads a few forums, buys a bucket and soap, a vacuum...

Opticoat 2.0 discontinued, OptiCoat Pro sees price increase

WOW!.....such drama being unfolded on here and elsewhere on the intranet! Who is a "Pro"? The person who has invested time, money, sweat, blood and tears building and perfecting their craft. The person who works long hours to get it there, who takes great pride in what they offer to others...

    Really???

Schmuck: "Hey you really need 'Item X, it's the best product for your car! All others are obsolete and trash" Kitty: "Hey Mr. Schmuck, I appreciate you wanting to look out for me and recommending 'Item X' for my car. Tell me, since you're such the expert, what makes say, 'Item X paint polish...

    Not really a review........But Permanon.

Beading is not a sign of a waxed or protected area of paint but rather surface tension. "Clean" paint beads water with no wax or sealant. The permanon area looks good, should be easy to wash and just blow off now. I hate those high roofs!

    Hey.....Look what we did!

Thank you, that's what we try to achieve in our work. That it "may" have come from the factory as such. The local Porsche dealer had one of our engine paints there are some people thought it was something new Porsche was doing as an "add on". We were jazzed about that. Anthony Much...

    Hey.....Look what we did!

Thank You, I agree with you that it's the little things that set this CaymanS off and apart from all the others. Even if you don't like it, it will turn heads! Anthony Yes sir! We do a great deal of services. Ya know there are a good number of "detailers" out there so we have to offer a...

    Hey.....Look what we did!

It's been a good long while now since I have posted up anything cause 1) Our shop is very busy with a 3 to 4 week calendar booked out and 2) I'm lazy! So many of you have seen some previous Porsche Cayman engines we have painted and then lite up and that's what I am showcasing here today...

    Is sealant dead?

No, sealants are not dead. There will always be car wax and sealants because not everyone wants to pay for a coating to be applied to their cars paint. If you're a pro and not charging AT LEAST $300 to apply Opti-Coat then you're seriously underselling yourself. Our shop offers a "new...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

I appreciate your concern and apology. I have though not taken it personally, as I stated it's just detailing, which is such a subjective area. Thank you for the thought and also kind words.

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

In regards to wiping opti-coat down.......please understand that one should wait a period of time to flash. My purpose in the video was to demonstrate mainly the application methods I use and not so much on a step by step course. So it's best seen as a condensed instructional. I should of...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

I never take a detailing reply personal as it's such a subjective area. So on to my reply. First, I never said I coated the entire vehicle with that amount of product. I only sprayed that rear quarter panel for demonstration purposes. As I said I have been promising people I would post up my...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

Hey that's cool....glad you liked it! Anthony Eh....yeah kinda. Ron and I get ideas and then see if Dr. G can formulate it and we go from there. In the case of Opti-Seal and Opti-Coat it was a brain storming over lunch in Dallas several years ago now with Dr. G. I said I wanted a sealant...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

Hey! I have a fan, most awesome and humbling.......likewise. :xyxthumbs: Hello, Nope no dilutions. Although I will mess around with things at times:buffing: We order most of the time several pro syringes of OC at a time. It just so happens that we also had several syringes of the...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

Thank you, my pleasure to make it. No fibers left behind, the towels are very soft......I will get the brand name when I get back to the shop tomorrow and post it. It was the OC 2.0 I was spraying which when spraying does not leave as much of a heavy residue as if applied by hand, also the air...

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

What ever is not used goes back in the syringe BUT I try and use it all as once exposed to air it begins to cure. For the demo I used OC 2.0 Anthony

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

It's Opti-Coat 2.0 in the demo. It doesn't become airborne in the manner of excessive over spray like spraying a base color or clear coat. Now if I were to spray an entire car with opti-coat then I do mask certain areas off but for this demo I did not. Thanks for watching!

    Still can't remove swirls

Ah, I stand corrected. Never used the product myself so thanks for that info. Anthony

    My methods for applying Opti-Coat

Hey you're welcome, glad I could take away some of the apprehension in OC. Nope, no lint left behind. OC is not a "tacky" product as it's being applied. It only hardens once its carrier has flashed off. Now enough product, say the left over product within the blue needle applicator, if not...
