    2005 Morgan Aero 8

Now that I have tapatalk, and can post photos, I can finally share some of the cool stuff I have been working on. This came through earlier this year for paint correction, ceramic coating, interior and engine bay detail. It was scheduled to be on display at a charity event, and the timeline was...

    2007 Porsche 911 Targa 4

The Wolfgang finishing glaze on a white ccs smart pad has just enough correction ability to ensure that there is no micro marring. It’s become my standard last polishing step for dark cars, especially when they have been compounded. I do clean the vehicle twice with Wolfgang perfekt paint prep...

    Detailing Through Injury

Do it every day. I was told to stop working 15 years ago by a neurologist, because of multiple blown and bulging discs in my neck and back. I told him, if he and his doctor buddies were going to take up a collection every month to pay my bills, I’d be happy to oblige. My back gets out of control...

    2007 Porsche 911 Targa 4

Just completed a multi step paint correction and ceramic coating on this beautiful 2007 porsche in basalt Black metallic. Started with a hand wash and blow dry. Claybar to remove bonded contaminants, three step correction using Wolfgang compound, total swirl remover, and finishing glaze on...

    Quickjacks are a game changer!

Most cars have specified jack points. Quickjacks come with two sets of four rubber blocks to use for these points. They also sell a set of slotted blocks to use with pinch welds. I bought a set of four slotted rubber jack pucks to use on top of the factory blocks for pinch weld vehicles for much...

    Quickjacks are a game changer!

Got a set of quickjacks a couple of weeks ago, and I’m thoroughly impressed. These things are awesome. Definitely going to make my job easier. I work on a lot of European sports cars and exotics. Most are low. These are going to save me a lot of future back pain. Wheels off jobs are a breeze now...

Question for the pros. How do you "get rid" of a customer?

I work on everything from daily drivers to high end European classics and exotics. I NEVER expect a tip. I am the owner/operator, no employees. If I get a tip, great! But I don’t expect them. To answer the original question, I have one client that I decided last time I worked for them, that...

Upcoming project questions. Original 1933 lacquer paint

I just got back from picking up a battery charger for the lotus I’m working on for the same client this week, and had a chance to inspect the Rolls Royce while I was there. The paint overall has a decent shine. Lots of swirling and marring, and scratches. Some discolored areas, and light...

Upcoming project questions. Original 1933 lacquer paint

Hi Mike. I have a job coming up that I wanted your take on. It’s an original 1933 Rolls Royce. My client knows there are parts of the car that will need resprayed, and wants me to get the original paint as good as it can be, before it goes in for paint, so he and the painter can evaluate...

    Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock bumpers

Just wanted to update. I thoroughly cleaned the bumpers with WG paint prep, and tried an out of sight test spot with WG Uber ceramic. It worked great. Bumpers now have a rich, even black finish again. It took a lot of material, but looks awesome!

    2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Incredible work as usual! I’m pretty sure car lots use a brick to wash new cars. I get a lot of brand new stuff in for ceramic coating, and have had cars with less than 20 miles look worse than my 17 year old factory BMW paint when I bought it with 100k on it.

Video: Trying P&S Bead Maker for the first time.

My local p&s supplier gave me a bottle to try. I used it on my wife’s Chevy uplander. Just a thorough hand wash and dry. No clay or polishing. It is extremely slick! Been two months, and it’s still there. Going to do a side by side with Wolfgang’s new si02 on the deck lid of my Bmw that has 6...

    Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock bumpers

It could be powder coat, but I’m not positive. It’s like a grayish black metal with a fine texture. Completely different than the factory rock sliders. They look like a black Bedliner material. No time to order DLUX. If I can’t get anything I have here to work, I may have him bring it back for...

    Utility Cart Lighting?

I have a craftsman resin two shelf cart with a snap on led worklight on each shelf. Works great! Got the lights from Costco, but I’ve seen them on amazon and eBay.

    Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock bumpers

Hey all, I’m currently working on a 16 Rubicon hard rock, and am hoping someone here may have some input as to what I can use to make the bumpers stay cleaner for my customer. I plan on doing an out of view test spot with Uber ceramic, but I don’t think it’s going to work because of the texture...

I am completely drooling over flex tools...should i just take the dive?

I have two 3401 machines, and a 3” da from flex. Don’t know what I would do without them. My local p&s supplier let me test drive a rupes, and while it worked, it didn’t work as well as my “beasts”. That said, I will be buying an Ibrid at some point. Only because Flex doesn’t make a comparable tool.

    1961 Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta

Outstanding work, as usual Scott! Gotta love paint thickness readings like that. And once again, thank you for taking the time to let me pick your brain on my Tesla job. It came out great! Just waiting for my client to come pick it up this evening.

    Wolfgang Uber Compound

Uber Compound is pretty aggressive. With it and a yellow lake Country pad on my flex 3401, I can remove 2000 grit scratches. I would try total swirl remover and an orange or white pad.
