Taping off a test spot!!!! You still doing it?

Agree with PaulMys. Did it for some snazzy pictures, but it just adds unnecessary time when you're trying to dial in. You don't need to the tape to help with the results.

Gyeon vs. GTechnic which do you prefer.

Nice panel test, Ancient1! Looks like Syncro really beads up -- and that's no so good in my mind. Looks like it is the dirtiest panel -- or any panel with Skin on it. But, it clearly acts differently on your water and drying demo.

Speed Master Car Wash Brush (bad experience)

Sure you are, and that's O.K. If you have a different opinion (and obviously you do because of your alternate explanation), then there's no need to say you don't doubt the OP. If you didn't doubt the OP, you wouldn't have responded. If you're right, something tells me hoyt66 would be happy to...

    Tesla S Rolls Back Time

That really looks great! I think it's so hard to make white colored cars look like they pop, and you did. Was there a lot of orange peel? Some of those 2013s -- like mine -- had a lot of peel. After 5 years and 4 rounds of polishing, a decent amount of the peel is improved, but certainly not...

    Favorite Waterless Wash

I don't use them very often, but I do use them as a pre-soak for when I do rinseless wash is. I used to be a big Wolfgang Uber fan, but I felt the polymers or interfering with the action of the hydrophobic coating I had on the car. Fortunately, I have a bunch of leftover D114 as well as some...

How to approach waterless wash on a dirty car?

My opinion on this will certainly differ from many of my colleagues here. I think waterless washes should be used only in rare circumstances, and that's when you might consider otherwise using a quick detailer. Personally, I don't think quick detailers have any role in car maintenance. I...

what's your next purchase going to be (detailing or non-detailing related)?

My espresso machine just crapped out. I think it was a bad solenoid and solenoid valve. I spoke with a few repair shops around the city, and they all said that they don't repair Breville espresso makers because the repair costs end up being similar to the value of the unit. Somewhat of a bummer...

    Empty Gallon Jugs

The shipping does really cut into the cost savings. On the other hand, US Plastics does have a great selection of bottles and dispensers. Similar products can be found at Uline. Amazon, of course, is great too.

Who uses mineral spirits? I've used it before, and it does work. Haven't used it as a coating prep, but it seems to work.
