I think I found a system that is as good as Dr. Colorchip.....

I don't mess with clear coat either. The spots I touched up look really good without it. When you say sealant do you mean something like Jescar Power Lock and the other products we use? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Fell for the sales pitch - Griots Garage Orbital

Hey Mike, what products do you use for your 3 step? I hope to one day enroll in your class. I'm sure it's worth every dollar. What is the closest class around the central KY area. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I think I found a system that is as good as Dr. Colorchip.....

Sounds like a good method. Im like you, thats to much money for what it is. I have a bunch of places I need to touch up on my truck. I have a 3 in 1 touch up pen. It works good but a lot of the spots are high after adding paint. I'm trying to figure out how to level it with the original paint...

Fell for the sales pitch - Griots Garage Orbital

I'm sending him some menzerna to try out. I think he could get most of it out with the 300 SHC. I could be wrong though.. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Fell for the sales pitch - Griots Garage Orbital

I removed some fairly deep scratches with my Griot's DA. I ran 4" Boss pads using Menzerna heavy cut. I'm wondering if you need a heavier cutting polish? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

I think im going to try the Griots PFM/Sonax towels or the Gyeon Silk towels. Not sure which yet. Kind of a stupid question, do you dry certain areas first or just go top down? Do you use a dryer or leaf blower first then finish with a towel? Drying is my least favorite out of about...

    Polishing with Menzerna

Some great info there! It's guys like you that help novice detailers get the info they need. I'll check into the boss pads for sure. I was making 2 passes on each panel one horizontal and one vertical. I was wondering if that was even enough. I would go over areas that were heavily scratched...

    Polishing with Menzerna

I did 300, 400, 3500, and power lock on all the panels. I used Griots mf pads on all steps except I used a large wax foam pad for power lock. One quick question, can you use a pad to remove polishes after applying them? I'm trying to find a way to speed things up. I spent a huge amount if time...

    Polishing with Menzerna

Thanks for all the advice. I spent about 7 hours and finished about half of my full size truck. It's a ton of work and very time consuming, but very rewarding. Just hope that my results last for long time. My only complaint is the 300 gets a bit dusty. Ended up using 300, 400, and 3800. I...

    Polishing with Menzerna

Ok...I have all of of these, 2-3 bottles in some of them. Could I do 300, 2500, 3800? Also should I do #4 Liquid Carnuba Protection and the the power lock as my last step? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Polishing with Menzerna

I started polishing today with the 300 Super Heavy Cut. What polishes should follow that one? I own almost every one of the Menzerna polishes including the Jescar Power Lock. Of course I don't want to use 6-8 of them. I'm starting to see how much work this stuff is! Wouldn't be as bad if I had...

    Newb help.. Need help starting

I bought several products a couple of years ago to try to match the paint on a blackToyota Tundra. The driver side was painted, the passenger side was not painted. I tried polishing on the passenger side and the hood, and gave up. I could never get the truck looking like I wanted. I eventually...

How does this compare to a torq DA? Are the hex logic pads better quality?

    Some noob questions

Thanks for the suggestions! I was hoping to be under $150. Looks like it's not possibility needing something a DA to polish with.

    Some noob questions

My goal is to remove as many scratches ect in my paint. It has been neglected to say the least. Its not real oxidized but lots of swirls and scratches. What are some good polishes that will not break the bank? I'm also just own a small one speed buffer. Would this work as an applicator? I'm...

matching old paint to new paint job

The whole driver side of my 11 year old Tundra was painted after a hit and run accident. The passenger side is noticably older paint. The guy that did my body work told me he waxed the passenger side and the only way it would match would be to paint it as well. Would polishing and waxing that...
