    Detailer in Raleigh, NC?

Hey guys. I apologize if this isn't allowed to ask, or even in the right section. I typically love to detail my own vehicles and have been an active member here in the past, but lately work and family has taken over my time and my cars are filthy. Rather than roll the dice with a random...

Coating on plastic trim peeling. What to do?

Hoping someone here can offer some suggestions on this. This Land Rover LR4 has the coating on the trim of the NAV screen and DVD screens mounted in the headrest peeling. Replacing the trim isn’t much of an option as it requires buying all new screens. Which isn’t really feasible just for...

Getting smoke stain off rubber trim?

A lot of great replies guys. I’ll give them a try! Worst case I just replace the weatherstrip.

Getting smoke stain off rubber trim?

Hey guys. Bought a 2006 4runner owned by a smoker. The car is almost surgically clean now but the last thing I can’t seem to get to budge is getting the smoke/nicotine/whatever stain out of the rubbery vinyl type weatherstrip around the windows. Presumably from smoking with the windows down. You...

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Ok thanks. I'm going to hit it one more time with everything I've got but if it whoops me again, I may bring it to you. I see you're in Charlotte. I'm up in Hickory.

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Thanks Derrick. So it's an SUV, so just crack one window a few inches?

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Hmm. I don't really have a way of connecting a hose like that to mine. I guess I'll just have to make do. I really think the one I bought was busted though. It literally didn't do a thing. I couldn't even smell where it had ran. I've returned it and am trying another one.

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Really? I've never read anything about leaving the windows cracked, in fact I seem to read the opposite. You want it sealed up as much as possible. Also, what sort of damage are you referring to?

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Hi there. The seats are leather. I did use an extractor on the carpets, but like I mentioned, after 2 passes it was still sucking completely brown water so I'm wondering if I should have went over it more. I'm fairly confident the glass is spotless. I cleaned it all very well and there is no...

VERY stubborn smoke smell. Please help!

Good morning everyone. I'll try to make this as short as possible. I bought a 2006 4Runner and its pretty apparent it was owned by a smoker. Its not the worst thing I've ever smelled but its definitely noticeable. The dealership did a fairly good job of cleaning all the glass, leather seats...

Should I be getting this much compound dust?

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I think I'm figuring out my mistakes. 1. I didn't clean the pad after each section. 2. I believe I am using too much product. I never really primed the pads. I just squirted circles on and started going. Then on each subsequent section, I added the same amount of...

Should I be getting this much compound dust?

Hey guys! After months of reading and watching videos I finally decided I had enough knowledge to compound/polish my own car. I purchased some of Larry's AMMO products since I really like him and his videos. So I broke out my Griot's DA on my Z06 and some products. I started with a bottle of...

What's your detailing New Years resolution?

Perhaps the best resolution I could make myself. I cringe to wonder about the amount of money I've spent on products that I won't actually ever need/use.

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

Well, it would "clean" them. But in the war against brown tire blooming this stuff is simply just not strong enough. I believe it can clean sufficiently but only on good condition tires. I don't get the dark brown runoff with this stuff like I do purple power. I'll soak the tire down with GG...

    How to videos...

I'm going to be doing a review/write-up/video of Griot's Garage Spray On Car Wash here soon. It'll be on a visibly dirty vehicle.

    Griots Engine Cleaner Help

Well said. I was going to mention that point. Their products generally seem to be weaker than most. I have a play car that only gets driven once a month or two and is garaged. I'm pretty sure soap and water would have cleaned my tires just as well as their rubber cleaner did.

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

Griot's Garage Rubber Cleaner I'm a strong fan of Griot's but I have to admit when something doesn't work and this doesn't.

    Griots Engine Cleaner Help

I have a bottle sitting on my shelf that I've had for over a year and have never tried it. This makes me a bit skeptical. My experience with Griots products seems to be that some are so amazing I'd never use anything else, and others basically seem to be colored water. Unfortunately, we never...

Please help me not pull my hair out over this brake dust.

I am thoroughly getting frustrated with these wheels. This thing must put out brake dust from hell. They are the hardest things to clean. I watch videos on YouTube of people using iron x, p21, and even wheel clay and it instantly sucks stuff right off. Never once have I had a single product work...
