What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Follow up on this. This weekend I prepped and did 2x CQUK to my wife’s new car. It’s brand new so did the wash, ironx, and clay before essence xtreme. Before I polished, the paint felt really smooth after the clay, but I grabbed a baggy and ran it across the paint and felt a fair amount of...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Just wanted to follow up in case anyone needs advise in the future after a dealer cots your car for free with overspray. Spent nearly my entire Sunday finishing off the removal. Overall the paint came out great, and I believe it’s 100% due to CQUK3.0 and Gliss. Using clay bar I’d say the...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Spent a few hours today with clay and lube. Some areas needed two passes to get it all, but so far, so good on the paint. The glass is still a mess. Even after clay it’s excessively rough when running my hand across it. I’m so glad I had the ceramic on the paint now. I can’t imagine if the...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

thanks. I may rail on the dealer to fix the glass, now that I can deal with the paint I hope. If they scratch the glass they can replace it. for the trim, I have not tried yet, but it was all coated with DLUx. Hopefully that helps like CQUK is helping the paint.

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Bingo! I was focus on trying to fix the glass first before trying the paint. Today I gave the clay bar a shot on the paint. Where the clay maybe removed 5% of the overspray off the glass, it removed 95% of it off the paint. It took a little more effort than normal clay bar work, but it...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

not sure, how it happened, but its all over the car. Front to back, top and sides. The lower parts of the door are the only exception.

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Its not hard water. I've cleaned hard water before and this is not it. And unless the sun hits the glass just right, the glass looks clean. Its all over the vertical panels also. Its hoot, roof, trunk, and top 3/4 of doors/sides panels. Only area spared is the bottom of doors where they...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

yes, it looks like hard water spots in the pic, but in person it’s too perfect a spray of fine mist dots. the ford dealer has service and collision. The collision operation of their property is probably 75%. I suspect they parked it outside one of the large collision buildings.

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Im going to take it in just to give them a piece of my mind, but I don’t want them to touch it. Not sure trying to make a claim with them will will go anywhere. Best they’d probably offer is to pay me the product cost. Although they had applied some dealer coating before I bought it that I...

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

If it’s paint overspray, it must be clear coat as my car has grey and black sections and unless I’m wiping something it’s clear and paint looks fine. It’s just when you touch it, it’s rough.

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

Just tried clay bar and it made the smallest difference on the glass. Maybe 5% improvement looking at the glass. If clay won’t take it off, what’s the next option? I’m beyond pissed.

What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

I had my mustang into the dealer for a few mechanical items and they had it a week. I told them not to wash it, and from the look of it, they did not. It was clean when I dropped it off, and I know they had it parked outside and there were rain spots. I washed it after getting it home, using...

Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

That looks great. Was it faded or in good shape before you applied it?

Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

It seems like you can only buy one ounce of SF in black. I’m wondering if there is any issue using the Black SF over faded grey trim. Or do I need to buy the large 12 ounce bottle of grey?

Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

If I use black SF over very faded Grey, will it cause poor results? I didn’t see the one ounce grey bottle for sale and it seems like that would be more than enough to try on the one vehicle.

Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

I’m not sure I follow? Are you saying you put SF on after DLUX or 3.0? If you do it first it turns into a hassle?

Trim Restore on 14 year old Xterra

I’m planning to try and bring life back to an older Nissan Xterra. The massive amount of textured trim was a dark dark grey when new, but there is a few small areas of black. Seems like a lot of folks highly recommend Solution Finish for heavily weathered and faded trim. Have a few questions...

Tire coating and ceramic on wheels

Thanks. Great pint as they’re black wheels. I’ve never polished wheels, but assume just hand application pad? I only have M205 but assume that’s fine with eraser after.

Tire coating and ceramic on wheels

I’m pulling off the wheels to ceramic the barrel and spokes with CQUK. I also will apply Mckee’s Tire on the rubber while off. just curious if there’s a right sequence to doing this? I assume because CQUK needs to cure 24h, it should be last to avoid any water or contaminants? Was planning...

CQuartz High Spots After One Week

I polished to remove the high spot. When the car is dry, I can’t see the difference, except the black roof. I figured I should re-polish the black areas to better blend it, as once I put CQ back on, I assume it will look as it does now. On the black, it just doesn’t have the gloss and shine...
