The results of my first attempt at a full detail.

Thank you for the compliments Reddwarf. I really do appreciate them. :D That's a good question. I'd say it probably all added up to about 9-10 hours. I took a couple of breaks, then resumed again today after letting the polish cure overnight. I'm sure it's a lot longer than the seasoned pros...

If anyone is interested in opening a savings account with ING...

I know this is off topic, but thought maybe someone might be interested. For those that don't know about ING, you can open a savings account with them that currently pays 4.4% which is a bit better than having your money rot in a banks saving account. ;) They just recently reopened their...

The results of my first attempt at a full detail.

Thanks Sparkie. No, she wasn't my helper, just my ham of a daughter that just had to be in the picture. lol As for the before pics, I didn't think about that until AFTER I had already polished it. :( I can tell you however that it had minor swirling and pretty bad water spotting due to that...

The results of my first attempt at a full detail.

Well, I spent my weekend using all my newly bought detailing gear and decided to start on my smallest vehicle, my 2000 Honda Civic. All I ever used to do was wash it (incorrectly obviously as I learned from you all lol) and wax it occasionally with Megs car cleaner wax or Megs gold class. I...

    It's Christmas come early!

I'll be waiting patiently. ;) That would be correct. I told my daughter that when she was younger and was running around the backyard with the salt shaker flinging salt everywhere. Quite amusing actually. :D

    It's Christmas come early!

Thanks for the welcome back. It's nice to be back, but how painful it was to know that the day I left is the day all my goodies got delivered, with me unable to even open them up and smell them. :D FN, as for the chicken snakes, didn't I follow up with the salt and bird story? ;) Of course, no...

    It's Christmas come early!

Oh boy. How will I be able to explain that to my wife? It's hard enough justifying my current purchase to her, because as she sees it, they're just cars.

    My shopping list (comments please)

Oh, sorry. Guess I should've put the list in there. :p I already have clay, Megs Gold Wash, tire gel, and a couple of sheepskin wash mitts. Here's what I ordered: So, how did I do?? There were a couple of other things I would have liked to have gotten, but I figured I was spending enough...

    My shopping list (comments please)

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger today. Thanks to everyone who has helped me wade through all the various product options and those that PM'ed me offering suggestions. My wife won't be happy with the $432.63 charge coming my way, but.....what can you do, right?? ;)

    My shopping list (comments please)

Megs gold as mentioned up above. ;) I know you've both mentioned the foam gun, but I'm already above $500 which is more than I wanted to spend initially, so the gun is just going to have to wait. :(

    My shopping list (comments please)

Thanks abrcrombe. I noticed the kit came with the polising pad rejuvenator in it. Is it the same stuff as the microfiber rejuvenator? Also I do have some armor all gel for the tires already. I guess I'll swap out the sponge for the sheepskin mitt. I appreciate it.

    My shopping list (comments please)

Let me know if I have forgotten anything. I already have Megs gold shampoo and some clay, but need everything else. I had a list in a different thread but wasn't ready to buy, but now I am and have revised the list slightly. Here is what I've got picked out: Poorboy’s Porter Cable 7424 Polish...

    This is WAY off topic.

Ya, I know. :D Judging by this picture posted by a member by the name of "Ad'lan" he just might have better luck chasing the zombies than the, well you know. In case you're wondering what he is carrying, it is not a man purse, but rather his takedown bow, that, according to his...
