    ISO question

No..."IP" is when you spend too much time drinking beer while detailing.

    Chrome Polish

Like Bill, I too use Brasso, it's a great product, good for cleaning bugs and scuff marks but not too abraisive. The only problem is that my HD Ultra Classic has the acres of chrome referenced above and about a million and one tight spots to get into and around. Brasso is a liquid that you...

    keep pads in baggies?

I would presume so, since this is the way most pads are distributed new. They are obviously dry so should not suffer from mold or mildew. Who knows how long they have been in bags in storage before you took delivery of them. I always leave my new pads sealed in their bags until first use...

    Chrome Polish

What are you fellow motorcycle enthusiasts using to clean and protect your chrome? :grouphug: Spent a couple of hours last night detailing my shiny parts while pondering one of life's great mysteries: Namely "Is there an easier way than this to keep this thing clean?"

    Claying

There are several schools of thought regarding the procedure to wash a car, but the one that I use that seems to make the most sense is the top down method. As you all know the theory is not to mar the upper (cleaner) areas with dirt from lower on the vehicle. So can I use the same logic when...

    Pad cleaning

I recently purchased (and started using) the XMT series Polishing Pad Cleaner and can tell you from first hand experience that I am really impressed with this product. Nice smell, easy to apply, massage gently into the pad, leave for 30 seconds to a couple of minutes and simply rinse out the...

    Newbie Help

Wash, but don't dry. Leave the surface wet - spray on your chosen lubricant one small area at a time and start claying (Pinnacle Poly Ultra is a good bet on black, DP is another good option). After you have clayed the whole vehicle go back and wash again before using the PB kit. Good Luck.

Added some plastic to the engine bay

Photoshop???? I thought he had polished the hood so much it was wafer thin and transparent. :D :D :D

    Newbie Help

:iagree: :iagree: I Totally agree. What's the sense in trying to cover-up defects? For the very modest cost associated in time and money, claying is definately recommended, especially on a nice set of wheels like your BMW. ;)

    stoners IG in bulk

DP Krystal Vision is every bit as good as Stoner's. :awesome: I've been using Stoner's for years and have a large amount of both cans and spray bottles on hand, received a 32 oz bottle of DPKV as a freebie a couple of weeks ago (Three Cheers for AG). :applause: Reluctantly tried it and...

    What I did last week.

It's nice to see a professional detailer who takes the time and trouble to use tape. Trucks looking pretty good now (at least for a Ford :p )

    P21 vs. S100

:iagree: Tried them both, on cars and motorcycles, the only difference I can determine is in the price. ;) I guess they think us motorcyclists are a bunch of cheapskates. :D

    What did I miss?

:iagree: This has got to be one of the most accurate comments made since this forum began. :applause: :applause: :applause: All you newbies out there in AutoGeek land, pay attention to what Yoda just said. If you don't induce the swirls in the first place, there's nothing to correct...

Pat, Is that the Meade SC-8 on German Equatorial? If I look closely it seems as if you are set up with a CCD as well, :) Looks like a nice set-up. Where do you go to find dark sky? Dave.

    What else do I need

So long as you like those wheels black and shiny, you cant go wrong with Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel, love the stuff. Also would recommend the DP wheel wax to keep the rims nice and clean. My $0.02
