    Harbor Freight cord Mod

Ok thanks for confirmation. I was wondering if the cord that came with the unit was somehow not rated for the amp draw, and after time, heated up or something but I would think the OEM would provide a decent cord.

Tornador Blastor Vacuum Attachment - A Favorite Cool Tool

So I assume this is not the case at this time? That's a shame...I'll hold off on this

    Tornador

I just posted this same question. I don't want to pay $150 for each head. To me the Tornador "trigger gun" should be one charge ($100) and then add any of the attachments ($50) for the foam gun, the "black rotating cone", reverse vacuum, etc. Seems these are all sold separately with the charge...

Tornador Blastor Vacuum Attachment - A Favorite Cool Tool

The Tornador guns, each attachment comes with a "gun" as well as the head. For example, the vacuum brush, the foamer, the rotating air "cone"... My question is do I have to buy the gun for each of these? I would like to get one gun, and have a "head" attachment for it. Each gun is $150-200 for...

    Air Compressor, Detailer's Friend?

Not at 40PSI, but I believe it is 6.5CFM at 90PSI I'd have to check later when I get home.

    Harbor Freight cord Mod

I don't mean any disrespect, but what's the point of this mod? Why not just tie an overhand knot with the ends of your DA/extension cord plugs together, plug them in, and voila. No risk of the plug coming undone and the cord can be as long as you like? You can still loop it over your shoulder...

    Please hold the peanuts

Well I was just about to ##### up and down the forum about this. I just got my first shipment and over 1/3 of the empty box has peanuts. Inexcusable! Really, it should not be a request. We should request peanuts. Default should be paper or plastic "balloons"...now I have to go around and try...

    New car window surface

After reading about polishing glass, I assume after time, glass damage (scratches, pitting, etc from wipers, dirt, road grime hitting the windshield) will cause the surface to become more rough and water will not shed as easily.

    Polishing Glass Windshield

Troy thanks. I found this informative post on the subject: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/58269-removal-glass-scratches-carpro-griots-da.html Looks like I will get those things I posted and also the CeriGlass just as a backup... CarPro Ceriglass Glass Polish, windshield...

    Air Compressor, Detailer's Friend?

I have an air compressor already. Its about the nicest I would need for a home garage - I have air tools, etc also. I'll check out that tornador blowing tool...any other suggestions?

    Polishing Glass Windshield

My wife's car has a winshield on her Toyota that is scratched and also has this waviness to it that she claims the blurriness is enough to start giving her a headache and I'd like to see if I can correct it. What I ordered already: 1 - Griot Garage 6" 2 - 5" LC backing plate 3 - Cerium...

    Air Compressor, Detailer's Friend?

I just learned I can use an air compressor to clean/dry the pads. I am a total noob, what else can the air compressor be used for? (besides the obvious of filling tires, etc)... I researched using it for a foam gun and it seems one really wants a pressure washer for that. But I'd like to use...

Air compressor and pad cleaning question...

So you just blow air on the pad I assume. I see there is an "attachment" in a video. I have a trigger gun already (the standard rubber tapered tip), I assume that's fine?

Air compressor and pad cleaning question...

Nice, i can use my compressor to clean pads! So is anything else needed? I have a 26 gal which is more than enough. What's the process? I haven't received my first order yet and just started out, never did any detailing before. The residue will be dry dust, I assume? Will the compressor be able...

    Is it worth the investment?

I'm sure you'll own new cars or trade a vehicle in, family have cars? Etc. I just ponied up for some tools and pads. Haven't done it yet but I figure I'll use em for years. And because waxing was such a pain by hand, I hope the dual action ROP I got (griot garage) will make it more effortless...

    Noob questions...

Tuscarora dave, thanks for the detailed answers. I got a Griot Garage 6in DA ROP ordered from AGO yesterday. I figured it was the best route to go. Looks like the air compressor won't work well for a foamer either. I'll need a power washer. Too bad. I don't want to buy more stuff!

    Iron-X

I meant no offense. I was just commenting on how the results were interpreted by me. I greatly appreciate Todd's test and the many others here that do these things. I wish more people would evaluate products like this and state their detailed opinions/results. I do this as well, but for other...

    Iron-X

The "test" seems skewed to me for two reasons that puts IronX at a disadvantage. 1) The working time of the others was slow and therefore IronX had to sit on the vehicle longer than it would if one were using only IronX 2) the scent/fragrance factor gives dodo an edge over IronX due to a...

    It's Official: I'm in...!

fly07, the gray aren't enough? why do you think I need the white? I did use it in the past, a couple cars ago. I found it to be very good. I'll do a bit more research. What I saw watching videos and reading endlessly was...dab it on, lightly make a couple passes to spread it, then start...

    It's Official: I'm in...!

uh oh...what have I gotten myself into...? ;) Yea, I still gotta get some 303 Aerospace and looking at a tornador attachment for the air compressor...are those worth it? It's $130...seems like a lot just to get dense foam from your soap.
