If you want to compare apples to apples, something more comparable to PNS would be Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish. Considering both are aerosol sealants. UFF is definitely more hydrophobic than M21.

Did you let the M21 fully dry before removing\wiping it off? Ultimate Wax is similar but easier to use because it can be wiped off while still wet or allowed to dry first. M21 should be allowed to fully dry.

Since you already have 2 gallons of D156, I'd go with Meguiars UFF. It's Meguiars longest lasting sealant. And it plays great with D156 as a booster. Best of all, it's only $11 a bottle and that includes a meguiars MF towel for application too.
