Is there a sealant like product for black plastic. Rear truck bumpers, running boards, etc.

Is Meguiar's Ultimate Black Trim Restorer the same as Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer ? I see both a Plastic Restorer (G16910) in an aerosol can, and also a Plastic Restorer (G15812) in a squeeze bottle? But the only Trim Restorer I could find was a 2-pack of sponges. What is the difference...

    Megs ultimate polish?

If you just want a cleaner wax with a bit of correction ability, then you could give Meguiar's Black/White Wax a shot. From what I understand, it has alot of cleaning ability and also some correction ability and will leave behind some protection. As far as product synergy goes, it's Meguiars...

    Dyer venting

bad idea. You do not want all that humid air vented into your garage constantly, which can lead to mold problems. Nor do you want this over the hood of your vehicles. Regardless, I'm pretty sure this is against code, as it is considered an exhaust duct, and all exhaust ducts need to...

    My $3 DIY Grit Guard

Umm, why?!? Grit guards are available on Amazon for $5-$7 shipped. I paid $4.68 for my Meguiars grit guards and that included free 2 day shipping too. You can order a Chemical Guys grit guard right now for $6.45 shipped.

    Tar Removal

Here is another vote for Tarminator. Great stuff. you just spray it on, and the tar literally starts to drip off. For more stubborn spots, just let it dwell for a bit and everything just wipes off.

    AG Shipping Fed EX

My Fedex driver just drops my packages off, no signature req'd. It's never been an issue.... because I've sorted this out with them already. This isn't an Autogeek problem. This is something that needs to be sorted out with Fedex or your Fedex driver. Make an account at Fedex, register your...

Backing plate stud height and diameter for 5/16" thread.

It's 5/16-24 Thread and about 7/16" long. That's measured without the compression washer in place. I measured both a meguiars and a Lake Country backer, both were the same length.

Backing plate stud height and diameter for 5/16" thread.

Mike, I'm thinking it is a coarse thread too, but I was just looking at the buffdaddy site, and according to his site, it's a 5/16-24 thread...... If his site is correct, that would be a fine thread, and we'd be wrong... I'm not with my detailing supplies, so I can't check for sure.

Backing plate stud height and diameter for 5/16" thread.

It's a 5/16"-8 UNC threaded stud. Not sure on the length off the top of my head, and I don't have one in front of me to measure. I'm sure somebody else can measure the stud length for you.

Used a grinder near my corvette, now paint has hundreds on small rusty pits!!!

As somebody who works between a railroad yard and a steel factory, Yes, YES, it is!!! Glad it worked out for you.

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

CRI is not the same as color temperature. You seem to be confusing the two.

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

A 60w incandescent bulb has a CRI of 100. So does a candle. How come nobody is recommending them for finding swirls?

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

How or why would a hi CRI light make for a better swirl finder?

Ult Fast Finish - the whole car or one panel at a time?

I don't use the microfiber covered foam applicators, just the plain foam applicator (foam only). Using the foam applicator, the UFF goes on pretty thin. After it flashes, there isn't a whole lot to remove, so 1 or 2 towels is plenty. For my wife's Highlander, I can get by with a single...

Could you please recommend a sealant that last 1 year?

If you guys like PNS, then give Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish a try. Works the same as PNS, but at a third of the cost.

Ult Fast Finish - the whole car or one panel at a time?

I've been using a Meguiars round foam applicator to apply the UFF and I do my whole vehicle before going back and removing it. I've found the foam applicator doesn't absorb as much product as a MF applicator or MF towel does during the application. I still use a MF towel to remove the excess...

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

I see the Coast HX5 light has been mentioned a bunch of times, but that light is using an old LED emitter at this point in time. The Coast (and similar lights) uses the old XR-E Q5 emitter which only puts out about 500 lumen MAX. The newer XM-L T6 emitter will put out almost 800 lumen with the...

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

Not for our intended uses.... which is finding swirls and scratches in clear coat paint. If you were using these lights to do custom color-matching, then having a hi CRI light would make more sense, but for just finding swirls, it's not necessary. I use an OxyLed MD50 LED flashlight that uses...
