yes I have a steam cleaner, a small one but good enough to clean my engine, and is the option I still did not try. an option that I saw is soda blast, but I have to take it out to do it, last option.

this are the sad results as you can see, this part has the stains after a lot of products, wheel cleaner, vinager, apc.. I even used a wire brush in the part that you can see darker but after you used water to rinse came back and this other part is down the engine, I used the same products...

I have one orbital sander, it looks like first gen of griots garage polisher. I used to polish, but did not works, has a lot of power but it stops easy. I dont know about the one you mention but could be the same case

I can not find purple power here, so I tried with APC again, and some wheel cleaners, but no luck, I even tried with muriatic acid, on a small part, but I did not see any change.. so I used a wire brush, in the area that is visible, and it is better but not totally clean :S thanks for ask

the problem, is that all engine parts look the same, cover valve, gear box, intake manifold.. I will try. thank you.

I tried with APC, and it cleans the aluminium but do not remove the stains, even if I use a wire brush. I guess I will paint it.

I am not an expert, but maybe you can polish like you do with headlamps when they are not clear..

what camera do you have? and I am sure you can take a picture of everything with that camera, just need the right angle.. I took pictures of some scratch in my paint with my phone, a galaxy, was not easy but with a dslr of $ 500, will be hard too checking the pictures were taken with iphone...

I have a 40mm 2.8 and is great, light also and my second favorite is a 28-105mm 2.8 but heavy very heavy... If you have limited space to take the picture go with a 10mm but no fisheye. My advice ;) desde tapatalk

I think is better if you buy a faster lens, maybe 2.8. Wider like 10mm, is good but I think is better to take pictures with natural light.

The part in picture is the intake manifold from a 6A12 engine Is not really damaged, I know because in some parts I clean with a dish sponge, the green one and removes, but I dont want to do all that work :xyxthumbs: thank you

My car has this horrible stains in the engine How I can remove them safe? I saw this thread with good information but I think the use of acid with a lot of plastic parts near is not the best choice, or what you think...

what was the mixture of acid that you used, and the dilution? Seems to work very good, nice done.
